What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jeff, the green tomato pics has caused me to want a comfort food supper tonight of corn meal breaded and fried green tomatoes, along with fried okra, country or as some call it "chicken" fried bone in pork chops, fresh butter beans, corn bread and iced tea. Real brewed iced tea, not instant. Guess cardiologist needs to be put in alert.

Oh, that sounds good! I’m planning something similar...
Been trying to get my wife used to cooked greens ~ collards, chard, turnip and beet tops, etc, but she doesn’t like when I use bacon. Women.
Those maters are one of my favorite varieties, Mortgage Lifter. They get big and the taste is out of this world.
Seventeen of my 80 tomato plants this year are Mortgage Lifters. Some of them are taller than me.

Better check my stock of mason jars and lids...

I prefer my greens cooked. Never had beet tops. Not a fan of beets so that stands to reason. Guess I will find some and try them

Absolutely beautiful pair of knives Todd, and you always have the best lookin slips too.
Thanks James. The slips were courtesy of a couple of generous porch members sbh06 sbh06 and JohnDF JohnDF and so was the IRJ I should add. 😊
I switched to photo booth #2 (the stump) to give y'all a break from the porch rail. Also, I never carried more than 1 knife at a time until I was gifted an edc wallet that holds a knife & lighter. This 14 fits perfect.

Great knives, and there is nothing like a good post shot. 😎👍
The bone on those two are some of the finest around. 🤠
Thanks John. I’m fortunate to own them.

Baseball knife at home for the All Star Game tonight
Wonderful photos Jon, you really know how to setup a great shot. 😎👍

Thanks, Jack! Some time back, I decided to pass on getting in on giveaways because I’ve already benefitted from so much porchly good will and generosity. I want others to get a chance. But I couldn’t pass on a chance to get a @glennbad knife.

It’s hot, but in a short while you’ll miss it.
I know what you mean Jeff, I rarely enter myself, for the same reasons :) That was a generous giveaway :)

Probably in a couple of days! :D It's set to be 80 at midnight, and in the high 70's throughout the night, and the same tomorrow, which should make for a nice day. Then, on Thursday, we are back down into the 60's, with a chance of rain! :D

I have that exact same Prinble Serpentine Jack. It’s nice to see what mine looked like in it’s prime!🤔
Great knife.

Thanks Jeff. I thought yours was the Schrade version. 🤔 🤔 ☺️ Maybe you ought to show me again sometime. ;)
I don't luck into those near mint old knives very often. Don't really want to, since I would likely get bored for lack of anything to do to them. 🤣

Your comment about the wagon wheel reminding you of Ed's dining spot proves that the porch is now in your blood !

Just wait till you start seeing critter faces in your knife handles .................... and watermelon ................... and furniture ................. and wood floors.

A Farmer and a Rancher eh? :D Nice pairing my friend, two very cool knives  :)
Thanks a bunch, Jack!!! :)
Record-breaking temperatures here in Yorkshire, so I'm cooling my hands on these two, my Waynorth Lambsfoot, and a Random Tuesday Ankermesser

Wow, 104 F is getting close to Mohave Desert temperatures!😲 Your super cool Lambsfoot and a salty seafaring slicer should help keep your mind off the roasting weather!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Trimming up some beans and peas for the steamer, got summer squash, young beets, and vidalia Sugar®️ onion sliced up and roasting on a cookie sheet with some butter and olive oil, and some fat pork chops marinating for the grill. Around here, pork is the most affirdable meat by far.

Happy supper, porch!C1F9C3DB-08F0-4D1C-A951-98FA68A1AB82.jpeg

I don't know how they do it. but apparently you can get a Primanti Brothers sandwich delivered anywhere in the USA! :D
I looked it up on their website just now, and they won't deliver here. This was the 20th largest metro region in the country last time I looked, so it's not like I'm in an inaccessible and remote location. 🤷‍♂️
...Regarding getting to know names ~ I put my actual name, Jeff, as a signature that is supposed to show automatically when I post. Not sure if it still does, because I can’t see it in my phone. The phone is all I have for online stuff.
On my Android, if I turn the phone sideways it shows signature lines - I don't know if that will work for an iPhone though.

Thanks a lot Gary, it was pretty crazy for it to be in the 90's still at midnight here! 102 right now, and I'm sitting here like a rose between two fans! 🤣 Hope you're getting some shade yourself my friend :) That's a beautiful pairing, love that Nealy  :)
I feel for ya, you will get through it😄 pretty normal for us. My kids were horrified that we didn't have AC as kids & mortified that we only had an oustide loo, although it was cool, when someone decided to stick the hose under the door & turn it on😠😊

While out & about yesterday. I picked up some super fine steel wool. So gave my schrade a buffing, come up good for such an old knife.
