Aloha. 😊🤙
Most of my quotes are from Saturday and later, but these are cool photos from Friday, Todd, showing off your kid's leaping ability. I still play basketball a couple of times a week, but I haven't played "above the rim" like that since ... Wait, I NEVER played above the rim!😁

Sweet S&M scout, Taylor!

A cold front is on the way, and temperatures are expected to get down to the mid 90s. 🤨
I'm off, looking for adventure, carrying these two:
...
The blue Farmer and the Tina pruner are a notable pair, Rachel!
Hope you enjoy your "cold front". I'm currently in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and Sunday and Monday have been rainy/cloudy with high temps in the 60s. My nose is already running, and the skin next to one of my thumbnails has cracked open already! Looking forward to sunny 70s for the rest of the week, I think.

Schrade 33OT, Schrade Walden 8OT are in my regular pocket, and the mighty 12OT Jack rides in that little pocket on my Wranglers.View attachment 1892084Have a great Saturday!
There's "three to get ready", Jeff.
Now go, cat, go!

😃
Cool pair of knives! What can you tell me about the New Holland shield? Is that the New Holland that made farm equipment?
I liked your story about your Ed G name and sig line.

Couple of charmers there, Steve; really like the wood on your lambsfoot!

Outstanding "pocket toolbox"!

Went out for a ride to forget about my stolen E bike.

Then I got an email from Virgin Media who said for no reason whatsoever they where going back on their word to award me £500.

This was for digging up my garden (also trying to drill my wall) to lay a cable to my neighbours house without my say so and causing damage.

Then leaving it there for a year and causing a massive rift with me and my nice neighbour when she got very stressed.

It was earmarked for work on my motorbike on Monday.

C'est La Vie at least the sun was out,and I am alive. 😁 😁 😁

Man, when it rains, it pours, Johnny!
I hope you hit an easier stretch soon. Really touched by that photo.

Good looking AGR lockback Barlow, Mike!
We had roads like that between the fields on the farm I get up on, but they were "private property". The utility poles make me wonder if that's a public road, and, if so, what happens if you meet someone coming the other direction?

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone :)

Commendable wood pair, Rob!

Laudable linesman knife, Jeff!
I don't think of myself as a fan of poetry, but there are some word images in Isaiah that move me.

Ordered a little HP STREAM 11 for computing on the go, relaxing in the yard and they sent me this off the big river ...
I've never even heard of a dy laptop ?!?!?! ... seems to be working okay though. Beware of bait and switch. Shoot

Watch out! The contents are pouring out of the bottle shield!

After getting this one out for a photo-op yesterday, I've decided to tote it in the pocket today. Incredibly, after all these years, I have somehow managed to keep track of my very first pocket knife, given to me by my father upon becoming a Boy Scout (Imperial, circa 1965). Am so glad that it's still around -- brings back lots of good memories. :)

Having your first knife is fantastic!

Have always wanted to try a hawkbill, so I picked this up at the 127 yard sale, for only six bucks. ...

Thanks for the historic info!
Are Cardinals fans happy to see Matt Carpenter having success with the Yankees this year?

Just the Vic recruit this week ..., It's a great knife that doesn't get carried nearly as often as it should.
I agree that the Recruit is a great knife; I think it's the basic SAK from which all the others are derived.

Yeah. Thanks.
The howling gaffes spellcheck fails to notice, while buggering up perfectly good words that are apparently too good for it!
"Sins of omission and sins of commission."

This is the only picture I took, but I am definitely toting the carbon steel yellow Rough Ryder wharncliffe, BOY are those clean grinds, for real! ...

View attachment 1893576
I have one of those RR Wharncliffe trappers, and I agree that it's a classy knife. I also have a Vic Florist that I think is A-1.

Looking good! Cattle knife? Any idea what era is from?

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and that the coming week goes well for you 👍 I'm afraid I'm laid low with sciatica, so please excuse the hastily-taken pic 👍
Sorry to read that the sciatica is still afflicting you, Jack. I hope it let's up ASAP.

Micarta mod Monday?

Pair of awesome 88s on 8/8; clever!!

I'm away on vacation for a couple of weeks, so I have a weird choice of knives with me - kind of whatever struck my fancy as I spent 15 minutes grabbing semi-random knives. Here are 2 of them.
Rough Ryder bow trapper that I've hardly used at all since getting it in May. I thought a couple of weeks of vacation would give me some chances to see how I like it. After trying to use it for food prep on Monday, I decided I like how it fits my hand, but I don't like the saber grind for cutting through "thick stuff" - dicing a big sweet onion, slicing summer sausage, etc.

Thanks, Gary. That's not a Tina; it's a CK Italy that Jack sent me a while back. A very pocketable pruner.
I envy your cold weather, if not the dryness. I visited a friend in the country, but even with the "cold front" it was too hot to play outside, except for about five minutes of rain that prompted us to put down our drinks and run outside to feel a few drops. We did get to see some shooting stars early in the morning, part of the Perseid meteor shower, I think.

Thanks Gary :)
That particular road is a private road. Its probably 1/2 mile long or so. There are two houses on it. One belongs to friend of mine. Its where I go to play cards. There are a couple of local county roads that aren't really two cars wide. I drive the one on a levee often. When meeting someone, the protocol is somebody pulls over as far as they feel safe doing and stops, and the other one eases by. The only non-locals on that road are lost :p

It’s a scout with a pen blade instead of an awl. The shield indicates it’s from the 1980’s, at least from what I could find online to age Boker USA. The wear on it makes me think it was kept in a tool bag.

Cool piece of petrified squid. 😁👍 Knife is neat, too.

Went to see my doc today. All she saw was the cased/holstered Leatherman on my belt, the Evo Grip 14 clipped to a belt loop, and the sheathed Toferner hanging by a leather lace from around me neck.
G10 Barehead Buck 371, and SAK Mini Champ were hiding in my pocket.

Beautiful pruner.
Have always wanted to try a hawkbill, so I picked this up at the 127 yard sale, for only six bucks. It has a "Sabre, Japan" tang stamp, it was very unfinished. Blocky handles, some pepper spots, and scratched up bolsters. So I shaped the handles down, which is a beautiful rosewood, and added rattail bolsters. After an oil bath and a few passes with wax, the pull is a solid seven. I can't wait to use this in the garden.

When I was a kid, “made in Japan” meant cheap. But Sabre raised the bar, making some solid knives! I have a Sabre granddaddy barlow with real bone, and the Sabre Fishing Knife my Grandpa bought me at Jack’s Sporting Goods in Camdenton, Mo is a treasured keepsake.
All my rambling aside, I’m floored by your handiwork on your pruner!
UPDATE: So, it's an HP laptop after all ... I just had the dang thing turned upside down D'OH !!!
And now I can't even open the laptop cover and tried the screwdriver blade thingy to help
But there are metal pins locking the cover like they use on hinges or something
So the knife is useless ... and I think I'm past the GEC return date. Shoot
Some days are better than others I guess ...

76D1Gra.jpg
Man, Jim. All you need is for the microwave to stop with your mug handle facing the wrong way, and you can just write it off as NOT YOUR DAY.🥴

Well, it's off to the doctor again this morning. I yearn for the days when I could go for a year or more without getting poked in strange places  . Oh well. Grin and bear it I suppose. To put me in a good mood, I've brought out my Buck 301 with Black Burlap Micarta to carry. Nice and slim but heavy duty enough to do what I might need at the hospital. Afterwards, there will be the usual stops with emphasis on the Wagon Wheel Cafe - Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. You guys and gals have a good day and if anyone waves a finger at ya just pucker up and don't turn your back on them no matter what.

I’m not going to... probe, but I hope it... comes out ok!
I thoroughly approve of your concsolation meal plans.

Chilled, sliced with salt and fresh cracked black pepper works too. Now I am thinking about good food that goes with fresh tomatoes. Fried chicken, fresh off the cob cream corn, butter beans, corn bread and chilled cukes is a meal that is always a winner. Yeah, the docs don't agree but that is ok too.
I think you know how to eat well, my friend. We’ll have to settle for garden beans with our BLTs. I just checked my sweet corn. Not yet, but soon!

Masterpiece. 👍🏻

I agree about Isaiah. My son chose 43:1 for his brother’s memorial, and that book just falls open to that passage.

Thank you my friend. I grew up in the south in the country. We always had a garden measured in acres so there was always summer work to earn a meal like I mentioned.
Garden beans and BLT's sound mighty tasty. Plus gives you a just "reward" for all of you time and labor.
Awesome passage my friend.
