What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I left Minnesota a day early and managed 98% two lane roads again through some really neat country and small townsView attachment 1902344View attachment 1902345View attachment 1902346

The bridge got me across the Mississippi into Wisconsin. The surface is completely open like a grate and I remember as a kid there was one we used to cross all the time that scared the heck outta me.
Nice looking knife my friend and I hope you enjoy your time in Wisconsin . I hope you have some great Bratworst & cheese while you are here .

That MAM looks like a wonderful knife and I'm very fond of friction folders. May have to add one to the stable.

They’re nice knives. Maybe not as refined as an Opinel, if you can call an Opinel refined. The lockup on the blade is a little wobbly, the factory edge bevel was sort of all over the place, but the blade’s thin and slicey and sharpens up easily, and it’s lightweight. I wish they came in carbon (I think maybe they used to, but I’m not sure). All in all a decent knife for the price.

My carry today. Bought my sons and I each one of these after our Yellow Lab passed on sometime after 1996. Does anyone know if Ka-bar made this, or was it Bear and Sons for Ka-bar? No other markings on it.
Tried looking it up came up empty but I have the original box for my yellow delrin barlow and it states Olean NY USA. That leads me to believe it was manufactured by Kabar themselves.

Your Ettrick is a cool knife!
I don't even remember how our dairy cows got ear tags. I wonder if the vet did it after some kind of vaccination, or if the AI (artificial insemination, not artificial intelligence) guy did it the first time he "serviced" a new cow.

Thanks, Gary. I’m enjoying the Ettrick.

We tag our calves as they are born (before they get too fast) with a tag that corresponds to the cow. Then they get the e-id before we sell them.

Eureka!

Thanks buddy, love your pics šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘
I really like this GEC....it's one of my most used. Their fixed blades don't seem to get much love, but I love them! View attachment 1902220
Looks really capable šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

Dynamite duo, Jack! RR sowbelly stockman knives are some of my favorites.
Thanks Gary, it was a gift, many years ago from Papa Andi šŸ™‚šŸ‘

Harry, since I drove this time I’ll have the fridge loaded with cheese from my favorite place in Cuba City. They might as well close down because they won’t have any inventory left when I get done with them!!šŸ§€šŸ»

I love driving the back roads too, but I think that bride would freak me out!

Love the hat, Bart. 🤠
It reminds me of the ones we wore back in high school, with those big ol' patches on the front.

A very appropriate mug for today, my friend. 🤠

I don't think a Jack Knife can get any more elegant looking. 🤠
