Thanks, Barrett; still on vacation for a couple more days.
Nice MAM! I'm not as impressed with my MAM knives as I am with my Opinels, but the MAMs are still very likable knives IMHO.

I agree, GT. They aren’t put together quite as well as an Opinel, but still nice enough knives.

Running is vulgar.
😁

My cattle got stuck on the roof and now I’m not sure how to get it down.

Nice photo. Is there something back there propping the knife up? My initial thought was, “Hey, it’s like a built in knife stand!” But having tried it with my own, it now seems that yours is defying gravity. 😉

After hitting 100 degrees 67 times this year, the cold front has come in. It's raining, and the temperature has dropped down to the mid 70s!

In central Texas, this is known as "False Fall", soon to be followed by "Second Summer" eventually we will have "Actual Autumn" 'round about October. 😀
.
Just in time to celebrate the end of "Hell's Front Porch" my Johnny On The Spot arrived. How many times have we stated, "Just this knife is all I would ever need to carry...well, along with a Pony Jack...or sometimes a Lambsfoot..." At any rate, Fall always makes me feel nostalgic, and this fancy camper style reminds me of childhood knives.

Just like I remember, I can't open the bottle opener without opening the main blade first. For now I'm trying the old trick of jamming a matchstick under the kick to raise it, but if that doesn't work I might grind a little nail relief in the handle.

Glad you’re getting some cooler weather down there. Is the “cold” water still coming out of the tap at 90+ degrees? 😁 When you mentioned that a couple weeks ago, I checked our kitchen faucet out of curiosity. 63°.

Sorry to hear about the bottle opener. Is it the strong pull, the fact that it sits low, or a combination of the two? I remember some folks saying they couldn’t open the punch on the 2016 BF #35 without opening the main blade first.

I got my own Johnny on the Spot in a couple days ago, and find the pulls to be just right (and a huge improvement compared to the weak pulls on the Beer & Sausage), but of course pull strength is very subjective.

Steingass EDC and Boker Club Gent for Friday. I know, I know, I should have carried these Wednesday. I guess I'm just a renegade.
Had some visitors while I was feeding the birds earlier. I might call my hilltop home Turkey Hill.

Sun is out this morning but the temperature is down about 5º . Nothing planned for today. Sausage and pancakes for breakfast after which, I've got some minor maintenance to do on the lawn tractor. Oh, we had a scorpion in the kitchen last night but Cindy stomped on it before I could get a picture. We'll have to keep a watch for another one over the next few days.

I'll be totin my new Tribal Lock Lumberjack while in the great outdoors today.

Love the 12’s and that’s a beauty!
Given the oak leaf shield, one might wonder if it’s stainless … ?
🤔

Thanks man! I totally agree. No, it is 1095. The Oakleaf is the shield that is used with DLT Trading SFO‘s. The acorn shield is used the GEC brand knives that are stainless. I’ve started to keep my eyes peeled for any acorn shield users that might pop up on the exchange. I’d love to have an oak leaf/acorn shield pairing.

Copy. Now that you said it, I do remember it being the DLT SFO … and I agree, an “Acorn to Oak” pair would be sweet!
