RR603 (XL) stockman to brighten my day. (Even better, the staffette on duty agreed not to contaminate my lunch with 🤮 beets 🤮 or their "juice". (AKA: "Water they are packed in" 🤢) 😊👍
Oh fer cryin out loud.
Root vegetables make ya strong, and beets are the king of root vegetables.
Quartered or sliced, in a cast iron skillet with some butter, covered with foil, and roasted at 400 degrees for an hour or so...
Oh yeah.
When you are in a hurry, mix a scoop of beet powder in your drink, and swallow some beet supplement tablets.

And don’t toss the greens. Raw in salad, or cooked with your turnip and collards greens.

Kids these days.😏

Todays carry fresh out of the box and my first and only engraved knife :)
Swiss army Pioneer X alox 2022 limited Edition Thunder grey . What a wonderful pretty much do it all knife .

"Edible": Won't poison you if eaten, but do not necessarily taste (or smell) good.
"Eatable": Won't poison you if eaten,  and tastes (and smells) good.
Those vile disgusting things might be "edible". However, they sure ain't "eatable".
To me they stink and taste worse than the stench of the just discovered fresh doggie residue that is oozing up between your toes.

I'll take taters or turnips every time over those "b" things. Carrots are almost as bad. You can have my share of both.
When I was a youngling, my mum forced carrots on us. Rarely would we get yummy spinach (I detested Popeye then and now) or brussel sprouts. ☹️
I've needed glasses since age 5 or 6 (got first pair in 1st grade, age 6. Sitting in the first row I could not even see the white lines on the chalkboard.) because of all the carrots she fed us.

When I had a pet black bunny decades later, he refused carrots.

Couple of beauties there buddy :)
After hitting 100 degrees 67 times this year, the cold front has come in. It's raining, and the temperature has dropped down to the mid 70s!

In central Texas, this is known as "False Fall", soon to be followed by "Second Summer" eventually we will have "Actual Autumn" 'round about October. 😀
.
Just in time to celebrate the end of "Hell's Front Porch" my Johnny On The Spot arrived. How many times have we stated, "Just this knife is all I would ever need to carry...well, along with a Pony Jack...or sometimes a Lambsfoot..." At any rate, Fall always makes me feel nostalgic, and this fancy camper style reminds me of childhood knives.

Just like I remember, I can't open the bottle opener without opening the main blade first. For now I'm trying the old trick of jamming a matchstick under the kick to raise it, but if that doesn't work I might grind a little nail relief in the handle.

Interesting stuff Rachel :) Good old GEC, adding those authentic touches! ;) :D
That's really cool  :)

If a guy turns up, with a bad haircut, wanting you to call a coin-toss...just shoot him! :D ;)
Wonderful slicer duo for your abridged Thursday Market adventures; glad to hear you were able to get outside, even if it's just for a bit! 👍👍
Thanks JJ :)
I'm toting these two slicers from Robeson as the week winds down. :)
Super to see those seasonal strawberry slicers JJ, simply superb ;)
I had a couple of lambsfoot knives with me today, checking out the manhole covers of Cedarville, MI.

I was talking to my friend Barry yesterday, 85 and still fit as a fiddle. He told his wife he had some blood in his urine, and was going to see the doc, until she reminded him he'd polished off a jar of pickled beetroot the previous evening  :D

An Old Friend, and a fairly New Friend today, my AC Lambsfoot SFO, and a French Alpin recently gifted to me by Âchillepattada Âchillepattada :)

Good morning Porcheteers. I'm carrying these two again today.

Notable pair, Rachel! (But I think any pair that includes that Voos is worth noting.)

Your Olsen knife is outstanding!

...
Gary, great taste as usual. I'm particularly fond of that Cudeman!

BTW, I get behind here and end up reading threads backwards. 😵‍💫

Another Spanish knife for me today. Some cocobolo in honor of Wooden Wednesday

Thanks for the Cudeman compliment, Steve.
Your Quintana Taramundi looks splendid! I don't know very much about the variety of Taramundi that are available. Is there a little liner lock tab below the bolster on your cocobolo CQ?

@5KQs~ Thanks for the pics! One of my favorite places to see boats is up the Minnesota side of Lake Superior. Grand Marais is beautiful.

When I’m on the road, taking back roads like Jim is doing, and a diner has those nice heavy China coffee mugs, I have often asked the waitress to let me buy one. Your resort would probably sell you one if you asked.
Asking about buying a mug is a good idea, Jeff. In fact, I noticed that the local library actually sells very similar mugs that sport the library logo.

Fantastic wood, Steve; the Churchill is superb!

Back to work so my posting schedule is all messed up! 🤣 Hope you all had a great day. View attachment 1903126
Handsome knife and slip, Todd! I hope you get settled into a routine and rhythm for the new year ASAP.

Awesome knives and photos sir, enjoy your vacation 😃
Thanks for the kind words.

A couple of purpose driven knives today. I wanted to wait to take a picture because I have my knives on top of my closed laptop. I completed the last assignment for my bachelors degree! After 2 years I am done with classes. Maybe I’ll have some time to crave something up soon.
Congrats on the achievement!
