Hey Pete... every time you post this, I say to myself "self?.......get this puppy on the VERY short list!" Thinking about pairing this one up with an Opinel for concentrated kitchen use & for picnics with my wife. Do you carry it much out and about, or do you assign it strictly food duty?

Ed and Peter, you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
Today I've got the same old pals... Opie #10 for wW.

Peter my thoughts and prayers are, and will continue to be, with your family and Ed's.

Today I did a little side by side for my own good. Any time I get a new knife it has to work very hard to keep my previous EDC out of my pocket. This Scagel is truly and awesome knife, even special as Ed J has commented. With that said, sometimes humble and ever ready is the ticket.

This iphone shot hopefully shows the similarities and differences between the contenders.

With such similar sized main blades its somewhat difficult to see the advantage of the longer handle of the scagel. Take into account that the 76 is actually slimmer in the handle WITH a secondary blade and it becomes more difficult for the Scagel to keep the 76 out of my pocket. The scagel has that razor blade like full convex grind, but I finally got that 76 very sharp, just as sharp as the Scagel in fact. The secondary blade on the 76 is just a scalpel and I would not have believed how much I really use it over the main clip.

So for now, the Scagel is sitting while the 76 is back in my pocket, the scagel no less special none the less.

all these knife folks in England and Kentucky, I lived in the one place and live in the other now and never met one in person to my knowledge, sometimes that feels odd :p

I work in Louisville, but live right across the river in Indiana....You would think we'd run into local members atleast every once in a while.

Just got my two GEC's back from the factory for "backspring tuning", so while I decide, I'm carrying my case SBJ today
And as I do, I add my prayers for Ed and Pete. :)

Ed and Peter - I just read this. Sorry to hear about. Prayers sent from my part of the world. I hope and pray everything will be fine.

I took my wife to Shreveport today for a bone marrow biopsy; we all know what the doctors are looking for with that. Please remember her in your prayers.

Wow. Prayers sent man. You aren't too far from me, so let me know if there is something I can help with.

Thank you, sir! I'll be sure to snap a few more photos when I have better light! :)

Today, it was the Case/Bose Coffin Jack in my pocket... such a joy to carry and use!

I do kind of the same thing when I get a new one. While hard to ignore the beauty of your Scagel, if the Outlaw is a better user then its not a hard choice which one to carry. But I know you will find plenty of excuses uh I mean reasons :) to carry that Scagel my friend. I to find I prefer my pen blades to be little scalpels, so nice to have that little super slicer tucked away for just the right task.

Got this old NYKCo. "Hammer Brand" 3-3/4 Dogleg jack with me today. I enjoy this
old knife a lot. Nice size and weight...imho
