What I’m carrying isn’t all that important. We are hoping that Jeff @black mamba is ok. Pictured is the path of the hurricane, blue indicating where it flooded. My understanding is that Jeff was in an area that flooded. It is an absolute disaster down there, and I’m waiting to hear back from the wellness check I submitted. Praying for good news.
Just spoke to Jeff. He and his wife were able to evacuate and are safe!
The initial reports of his mobile home in Florida are not good, so he has a long road ahead of him and will be in need of help.

sunknife sunknife , good luck out there this season, all the other hunters too! I got out for a bit today also…

Thanks, good luck to you as well. That Waynorth camper looks like it belongs outdoors. Not sure where you're located but here we had the coolest temps I can remember for opening day, made for a pleasant morning hunt.

Western NY. It was nice and cool down here in the hills, didn’t see much though!

A pair of Supermodel Saturday Slicers for you; cool old steam engine in the background, too! :D  👍👍
Military Knife author Ron Flook christened those knives NAAFI Knives, since they were sold in British NAAFI institutions (see article below). There were in fact 4 patterns produced in this style, by multiple Sheffield cutlers. One pattern of this type is still made, with a Sheepsfoot and Pen, but the Bexoid scales are no longer available unfortunately. Here's one with a Spear and Pen

It's noteworthy that, in 1943, cutlery production was still very much restricted, with Sheffield cutlers only allowed to produce knives for the military and government institutions.
I really like the knife history of your wonderful NAAFI pocket knife, thanks for sharing!😁👍
