I am late for parade I just went to write

Your Traditional Knife of the Year 2021

To slow, it was closed quite some time ago,my fault for putting it off.

Well I received quite a few knives I liked a lot but this one wins, easy.

I returned after an absence after getting fed up with all the power buying of GEC for profit or gain made me lose interest.

Much the same as to why I dont watch football anymore the greed and inflated wages turns my stomach.

I had no idea of the furore going on with the forum knife etc.

When I received one I was overjoyed and determined to make the most of the opportunity and use it as intended.

That I have done taking it on 2 big motorbike road trips and using it here there and everywhere.

Today I have been cleaning and oiling it (twice in fact) and its ready to be used again and add some fresh (unforced) patina.

What an absolute pleasure it is to use,I love the way I can pinch it open and the satisfying mechanical way it clicks to half stop then closes.

Its mechanical poetry.

Here it is Billy Barlow (my first ever Barlow) my knife of the year...

Wonderful journey- you and your knife.

Nice, Paul. Now may I suggest you get down on your knees in the garden or flower bed? Those hands are just too clean!😜

This is from prying the husks off hickory nuts, and it will NOT come out🙄View attachment 1950565

Manny is waiting for a couple of shots.

Jeff - I am kinda hoping the coming winter might heal up my sandpaper and fish scarred fingers. Tired of rubbing lotion on them all the time. Ed ................... I'm jealous of your hands ! 😊 🤣

Two beauties with you today. Hope you catch your limit.

Thank you my friend.😊

Not a limit, but, a good catch this morning. Plenty enough for Elijah J., who prefers his straight out of the fillet bag. 😊🐈‍⬛ A mix of spotted bass and bluegills made a good supper.

That Viper is such a beautiful balance of aesthetics … so refined … looks like a custom.
😍

Thank you Ed. It kinda is a custom by now, I have done so much rubbing on it, to get it more the way I wanted it to look. 😊
