What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice, Paul. Now may I suggest you get down on your knees in the garden or flower bed? Those hands are just too clean!😜

“… Ed ..... I'm jealous of your hands ! 😊 🤣

you guys gotta stop dogging me about my pristine hands! 🤣🤣
In my electrician days, I used to beat them up pretty bad, but some years back was able to make a shift and now the toughest thing my hands face are a set of phosphor bronze 12’s!
😎 🎸 🤣

At first glance, I thought the light was mounted on the knife … my reaction ? …
This man’s a genius!!!

Thursday night already, and I haven't posted ANY of the knives I'm carrying this week! o_O
As I've done for the past several weeks now, I'm again carrying 10 knives this week from one of the categories that will be included in the new weekly rotation schedule I'm designing. This week's category is "International Knives", but for me, that does NOT include SAKs or lambsfoot knives (they each have a category of their own in the schedule), nor does it include knives, mostly familiar U.S. patterns, made in China. But instead of trying to identify the 10 best international knives I have, I wanted to identify a set of knives that represent as many countries as I can. As a result, I'm carrying 10 knives that represent 8 different countries. That leaves me 2 more choices, and both of them come from Spain. Tonight I'll post the 3 Spanish knives I've been carrying since Monday.
A Taramundi I purchased in Sevilla the last week of 2014:

JJ Martinez marinera pattern that I had my daughter order for me from a Spanish website when she lived in Spain:

Joker with olive wood covers that I got in Valencia the first week of 2015:

It’s been a heck of a year in the garden. Pulled the last bits before the frost hits.
Beautiful peppers! I’ll be watching the temps closely Sat night, and just may throw an old bedsheet over mine. I’ve been picking poblanos and the long sweet grilling peppers as they ripen, but there are a bunch on there that could use more time.
I did dig out the last of my potatoes, and have pulled most of my tomato plants, except the cherries. They just keep cranking them out.
This old guy was a struggle, that's what happens when you try something new. I'm happy with it. I learned some new techniques, so you can't ask for much more. I carried the 44 today, no carving was done with it.

Love seeing your talent and skill, Jiki.
May I ask what new skill did this one require?

That will do it! Since using my acoustic for my niece’s wedding in June of ‘21, I had only been playing my Teles. Last gig with my duo, I decided to use my acoustic, and it was so tough, I almost gave up. Worked out, though.
Now you know why half of my playing is with a slide!

Primble Primble ~ great creel shot!

My hands used to look just like yours, but that was when I was driving a truck and handling a lot of cardboard. Something about cardboard that just sucks the oil out of my hands ~ and dulls knife blades!
I used to use Udder Balm.

Ever tried smearing your hands super thick with lotion, and wearing gloves to bed? It helps.

Thank you.
The eyes are what I am most excited about. I'm looking forward to trying them with othe faces. More depth and layers in the beard, which I'm hoping to expand on in the next piece.
Yes, if I zoom in, I can see all the detail.👍🏻

Today's carry.

It's sort of weird to have a knife again. We just spent 2 weeks in the hospital where MrsR&T MrsR&T had an emergency c-section and at just under 34 weeks along a 4lb 2.1oz baby boy. He'll have to stay in NICU for several weeks before going home with his adoptive parents. We're visiting regularly and will be a part of his life.

Nicu stays are never fun. My last 2 were premies. Hopefully everyone pulls through and that you have good nicu nurses.
Great looking kit that vic is a monster and its really hard to beat a good set of knipex.
Thanks. My kit evolved over time and I would keep a log to track what I did and didn’t use. I removed everything that didn’t and came up with what was pictured. I much prefer victorinox over other multitools, and you’re right the knipex pliers are awesome!

Well played, sir, and a beautiful Boker.🤤🤤
Thanks Jeremy. 😎👍

Congratulations! 😊👍

We’re gonna need a knives + guitars post
This one hasn’t surfaced in a while, feel free to fire it back up! My old post looks to have lost its pic somewhere along the way, it seems, but I’ve got at least a few of each to add in there as well!
