What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That's a lucky find :) Handy Ettrick :)
Thanks, Jack. I’ll have to carry the ettrick more often, it’s good luck 👍
Nice find Bart, lots of beads in that one.
😎👍
Thanks, Todd. That’s for sure. I think I’ll leave it intact, at least for now. I’ve made the beads out of small ones and broken ones.
Still a favorite. Took this picture, but I didn’t think I was going to get to “post it” 🤣
Have a great day everyone. 😎👍View attachment 1950473
Love the dad joke (and the knife), Todd.

Grabbed a Bear and an Ulster Scout today. :)

Thursday night already, and I haven't posted ANY of the knives I'm carrying this week! o_O
As I've done for the past several weeks now, I'm again carrying 10 knives this week from one of the categories that will be included in the new weekly rotation schedule I'm designing. This week's category is "International Knives", but for me, that does NOT include SAKs or lambsfoot knives (they each have a category of their own in the schedule), nor does it include knives, mostly familiar U.S. patterns, made in China. But instead of trying to identify the 10 best international knives I have, I wanted to identify a set of knives that represent as many countries as I can. As a result, I'm carrying 10 knives that represent 8 different countries. That leaves me 2 more choices, and both of them come from Spain. Tonight I'll post the 3 Spanish knives I've been carrying since Monday.
A Taramundi I purchased in Sevilla the last week of 2014:

I've been enjoying carrying this John Lloyd lately...

Outstanding stag Wharncliffe, Glenn!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thank you, GT. :)
I love the looks of the Saddlehorn, but I don't carry it much... too many knives.
Thanks for the info, John. :) Every dog has its day, and when I get a rotation schedule going again, every knife gets to play.🤓

Thank you, Gary! It is a small world indeed. We stayed at West Baden Springs- it is beautiful. If you haven't you should stay there when you're that way. Whenever I am on a trip I am tempted to lay a knife out and see if any Blade Forums members happen to walk by.
I once saw a car with a Case license plate in the grocery store parking lot while we were on vacation. I wanted to wait to talk to whomever came out to the car, but my wife said, "Don't act like an idiot." 🤓

Giving the WT a break and going with this beauty instead. Have a great day everyone.

Stunning chestnut jigged mini trapper, Todd!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Those are green onions, Gary. A variety called Guardsman, which grows a small bulb. They get pretty big, so we can hardly keep up with them. Supposed to have a light frost this weekend, but I expect it won’t hurt them at all.
Thanks for the ID, Jeff; amazing that you can even tell the variety from my photo!:cool::thumbsup: Maybe I should recommend these Guardsman green onions to the Guardians of the Lambsfoot. In my backyard, if I let them grow, the white part/bulb gets quite thick, and the green part/leaves/stem gets really tall. I usually use at least 6 inches more of the green than I showed in that photo.

PLastic for the new retinologist, now back to Greensleeves bone.
They did some new things to me, but the news is favorable.

I was sent to a vitreous/retinal specialist as part of the prep for cataract surgery several years ago. The guy found a small retinal tear in one eye and took me down to the laser room immediately to "weld" the tear - Dr. Glazer and his laser is how I always think of him. I have to go in annually so they can check the status of a "vitreal veil" in one eye.
I have a couple of those Case Caliber linerless Zytel-covered knives. I like them. Is yours a LT347?

It is an awl.
Thanks for the info. :)

I found this Schrade Walden at a garage sale here in Sydney, Australia….I don’t think there are too many down here.
After watching a few 357Magdad videos on YouTube of his knife restorations I gave it a go. Turned out quite well for zero power tools used although a Dremel is now on the Xmas list.

Thank you Jack. Your double Lambsfoot carry is ruggedly handsome. 👍

Congrats on finding that cool scout knife; great job on the restoration!:cool::thumbsup:

Why yes, that is Osage Orange. There were quite of few in that run of 29’s that had some killer grain. Here is the pile side of that one.

Thanks for the confirmation and the extra photo of that grand OO 29!:cool::cool:

Case stockman today.

Are those swans on the water? Do they try to bully the cattle? The black cattle, white waterfowl, blue sky/water, and yellow 3318 make a great photo!:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you very much my friend, my sense of taste is affected, and I'm still feeling a bit weak, but hopefully I've escaped lightly :)

Thanks buddy, I'm trying to get in shape again :D ;)

THanks again Gary :)

I didn't actually notice that at all! 🤣

😂

😁
Thanks for responding to all of my comments, regardless of how inane they are, Jack. 🤓

Belated birthday greetings, Joshua! Notable pair of birthday knives!:thumbsup::cool: I remember checking your avatar on a post you made a few weeks ago (don't remember why I checked) and being stunned to learn that you were 40 already! :eek:o_O😁

Thank you, Gary. Yes, the years are rolling along. Two of my five children have grown taller than me and the third will probably eclipse me in a couple of years. One should be driving before the year is out. . .😳

My VRA specialists are an odd combination of old and new school. They have email for making appointments, but if you have a question you have to call. I got the call about the retina pictures with dye, and there's no need for treatment. I go back in April for another look with dilation, but without the Clockwork Orange stuff. (Branch vein occlusion, no significant swelling and not in my field of vision.)

Yes, my zytel is a 47. It's all right, but it was more expensive I think it should have been. Even though it was on sale.

I'm sticking with the big Camillus today. I scoured some fuzzy rust off the inside of the backsprings yesterday and rinsed it with vinegar and lemon juice. I keep opening it up to admire the new blue sheen.

I'm the same way, Gary. My wife is always rolling her eyes as I am meeting and talking to new people everywhere we go.

Carrying 10 of my "international knives" this week (Monday through Sunday). Today I'll post representatives from England, Portugal, and France.
