What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Busy day yesterday. I carried my TC barlow. Somehow my daughter is a teenager already.

Cleaning out my folks home as we moved them to assisted living a few months back. They had bought this hand carved mask 55+ yrs ago. The eye's and teeth are supposedly Ivory. as a mischievous child I removed a couple of his front teeth

I'm pretty sure he had never been dusted/cleaned the entire time he hung in our house. I spent quite a bit of time using assorted brushes, warm water and compressed air to restore his fierce appearance and had Lyle's famers jack help in the process.

We are trying to divvy up what's sentimental among family and friends and what an emotional journey it is:) I happen to love this guy, yet my wife wants him no where in our home:(

I've tried a bit of everything over the years, and my favorite wood for smoking is apple, with hickory running a close second. Apple gives meat a smokey/sweet flavor.
Yessir, trying everything sums it up. I still have some chunks of my old jonathon apple tree, but it’s mostly gone. I have to import hickory and mesquite, both of which I like, but mostly use wood I cut here ~ maple, ash, and birch. Just a plastic cap over a screw, probably caught the very edge of the steel screw.....
I actually quoted your first post to compliment your JJ Martinez…

You need a TL-29 or SAK!

I love this pair! 👍🏻👌

Absolutely gorgeous weather here ~ I intend to enjoy it while I can.
Same trio, sorry.79C5CEDB-DF57-4C97-B93A-148AE5D5B2E9.jpeg

Great selection for that job my friend , but I do not see why Your Nanc would object to having that Mask hung up so everybody could see it .

Thank you sir. Your trio looks very capable of anything you throw at them.
I have never heard of using ash or birch in a smoker. Learned something new today
