Proof, not that it's needed in my book , that Micarta is top drawer material , effective and very attractive. Real balance to that knife.View attachment 1954692View attachment 1954691View attachment 1954690
Totin’ a Dowell trapper today with vintage micarta handles and an etched A2 blade.
You are killing me @Crappie71 ! Those fried fish look amazing!
Great combo Jim, @Jiki ! Nothing better than Red Bone.
Good grief @315 ! Where did you find those tracks?!
That knife is a classic @Johnnythefox! It could not be better, and I hope you enjoy it for a long time.
Oh no, what happened?

Nice smoker. Looks like a couple turkeys will fit in it.New smoker came todayView attachment 1954869
That’s good, because we’re hosting Thanksgiving, and I like to smoke my turkey.
With that in mind, I picked up a few hickory nuts to plant. The plan is to let them grow for 125 to 150 years, and cut them up into chunks for my new smokerView attachment 1954873
While picking them up, I noticed this ant trying to figure out how to get this mushroom back to his nest.View attachment 1954871
Another nice little fixed blade
Congrats. It’s got to feel good to get it after all that work. Until you have to pack it back out 5 milesJeff, the altitude was around 6400 feet so it didn’t help when a guy lives at sea level. The terrain was tough. We spotted the Elk at sunrise and spent the next 5 hours and 5 miles cross country to work within 350 yards belly crawling through the sagebrush. And my belly isn’t as small as it used to be so I had to stay extra low!!!
