Congrats. It’s got to feel good to get it after all that work. Until you have to pack it back out 5 miles![]()
Thought I’d go with a couple of barlows today*

This is the fruits of my labor from Saturday; I had this #77 in my pocket today. If you don’t like fried crappie, you don’t like nothin’.

New smoker came today![]()

That’s good, because we’re hosting Thanksgiving, and I like to smoke my turkey.
With that in mind, I picked up a few hickory nuts to plant. The plan is to let them grow for 125 to 150 years, and cut them up into chunks for my new smoker![]()

Cleaning out my folks home as we moved them to assisted living a few months back. They had bought this hand carved mask 55+ yrs ago. The eye's and teeth are supposedly Ivory. as a mischievous child I removed a couple of his front teeth
I'm pretty sure he had never been dusted/cleaned the entire time he hung in our house. I spent quite a bit of time using assorted brushes, warm water and compressed air to restore his fierce appearance and had Lyle's famers jack help in the process.
We are trying to divvy up what's sentimental among family and friends and what an emotional journey it isI happen to love this guy, yet my wife wants him no where in our home

It's the other side of the blue knife. Can you tell me about the red knife? Thanks
Of course.I am usually not a fan of GEC’s bone jigging, but I believe they got it right on this 43 Trapper. I cannot imagine a more appropriate jigging style to match the beaver shield. It looks just like a beaver has been gnawing on it. I guess you could call them the original whittlers right Jim,Jiki ?

Thank you I did not have my glasses on.It's the other side of the blue knife.

I'm guessing it's a lunchbox knife, somebody's idea of perfection in somebody's school colors, perhaps.
Glad you are ok. So you will go head over heals for a good photo? That’s an interesting knife, Jack. Curious shape to that caplifter.
Nice Barlows*, Jeff!
Looks delicious!
Congrats on the new smoker. And good luck with the hickory, sounds like a flawless plan.
Really cool mask, Paul, but it does look like it would be a royal pain to dust!
I’ve got these two with me today.

While I was trying to get a (different) photo with the leaves in the background, I tripped and fell stepping over a low garden wall we have in front of the house and bashed my shin/knee on the concrete block. I dropped the knife and my phone (thankfully neither were damaged). My knee isn’t feeling too great at the moment, but I think it’ll be alright, just a bit scraped up and bruised. And of course the photo I was trying to get didn’t even work out.![]()
I may not have posted all the relevant pictures, either.Thank you I did not have my glasses on.
