Wow. I remember when Legos were just blocks, rather than complicated model kits... We had to use our imaginations.
Yeah, I'm old. ;)
I've been carrying this knife since September 23rd!! It has helped with the daily apple, and road snacks!!
We left for my Granddaughter's wedding Sept 23rd, came home October 4th, got Covid, and I have been carrying it in my robe!!
We are almost all better!! It's been a stalwart!! 😉View attachment 1960078
Glad to read you guys are on the mend.

Imperial Cub Scout …..and an evening shot across our pond from yesterday…

A little slice of heaven there👍🏻
Nice shot from the operator’s throne.
After getting experience with one at my friend’s tree farm, I came home and told my wife I wanted a skidsteer. Of course she asked me why. “Well, to move things. Besides, they’re fun.”
It did not sway her…
Thanks. I've that from quite a few people. Is it the texture? I like how versatile they are. You can use them for soup, sauces, scrambled eggs, you can pickle them and the parasols you can batter and fry like a wiener schnitzel. I'm sure there's many other ways to use them as well. But yeah, they're not everyone's thing.
I like big Portabella caps filled with stuff, and roasted on the grill😃

It sounds like you caught the bug from your wife! Sorry about that, Just keep getting extra sleep, and keep fighting it off.
Six more days, and you’ll have a month with the same knife, which is impressive considering your collection!
It’s nice to see Rose looking recovered. Nice photos as always, Josh

This one has been a constant companion this weekend.
Out of the three makers, I’m going to guess Imperial?
Eka & blackheart sassafras.

Very nice looking wood. On one of the guitar building forums I’m a member of, we have some Aussies building guitars with your native woods. Most of which are unavailable here.

Have a good week folks :) Starting mine with my Hartshead Barlow, and a friction folder by Tod Cutler.

I think that knife maker has an appropriate name.😎
First of can I say a big thank you to whoever has turned me gold,I have no idea how you did it or who you are,but you cheered me up no end.

THANK YOU

All of these old uns I bought at the show yesterday.

Its lovely, mild and sunny this morning.

Sitting in the sun giving everything a wash and brush up is enjoyable and relaxing.

I use a mild brass brush for spark plugs,Folded fine emery paper between the liners and fold a small piece into a box shape for the inner face of the back spring.

Flush out with a garden hose then drying in the sun.

Next metal polish and oil.

The Camilus as the tip of the opener missing so hoping a little clean and sharpen on whats left will work.
My first ever Camilus,it looks like a great camp knife to me.

Cleaned of the burs on all the drivers, interesting to compare the TL 29 (superb condition) to the English version.

The CJ Barlow I was offered twice the price I paid on the spot,I was talking to a interesting collector who had a vast knowledge (he was like the Brummie Jack Black).
I said to him if I sold it to him it would be the same price,if he had said he had been looking for it for years I would have given it to him.
His brother told me he had unbelievable collection.

"Chas if you are looking in I hope you will join the forum".

These are all in good working order and ready to use,I am surprised which ones I am favouring straight away.

It was a brilliant show, it was to much to take in,my wallet was literally empty at the end of the day.
But I cant stop thinking about the ones I didnt buy, I needed a bigger wallet and a pickup truck 😆

The porch generosity runs deep. It wasn’t me, but I wish I’d thought of it, Johnny.

Cool scores, especially that LF Barlow. And welcome to the TL-29 family. I think you might find it an incredibly practical knife.

The zytel early, then back to old Greensleeves. Still no strip search at a doctor's, still no reason to risk it.

Oh, and of course the magnifying knife.

The nurse who gave me my annual physical last week would have been sorely disappointed if I’d had to strip🥴
Last night's desk picture of today's carry.
Have a great work week! I'm going to try and have a great retirement week! :D

CONGRATULATIONS!

I used the clip on the Big Jack enough yesterday that it needed a touch up on my diamond stone. I usually use the spear for food, and all it cut was a fistful of cilantro for supper.
The beets and carrots are just fine where they are, I just pull them as needed. But when we get a serious freeze, I’ll bring them all in. Gonna have a LOT of beets. You hearing me @afishhunter?78712280-7198-4AE1-BED0-E8F56247509D.jpeg0CAEC8B5-0830-4BF0-85FA-FA3ABE61FF63.jpeg

Well…you can’t beet that! 😜

Another category that will be included in my new weekly knife rotation schedule (maybe I should take the pressure off myself and plan that the new schedule will debut on New Year's Day 2023 ) is "Case Knives". This week I'll be carrying 10 of them that I currently consider my 10 most favorite. Many of my Case knives were gifts from BF members, including 9 of the 10 I'm carrying this week.
This brown Delrin Peanut is the first Case knife I ever owned. I won it in the first GAW I ever entered on The Porch; thanks, Cory. A sentimental favorite, for sure.

This chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr. is another GAW prize, from the late Big Biscuit. It's one of the 4 knives that I currently carry literally every day. I have 8 Case knives from the chestnut jigged bone CV series - I like 'em! 🤓

Those are a different LEGO theme which are called Technic. They're more focused on detailed mechanical models of cars, construction vehicles, aircraft, etc. LEGO still makes the traditional brick-based sets too.

I can remember being introduced to Lego, aged 3 or 4, by the Barlow family of Stannington, Sheffield. I had walked, with my extended family, along the River Loxley to the Robin Hood pub, to meet up with the Furness family, into which my auntie was to marry, and the Barlows, being longstanding family friends, had come too :)

A photo taken a few years before ;) :D
