What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Immaculate wood in your photos, Rob!:thumbsup::cool:
The leaves' color really complements the knives, too. What kind of leaves are those? I can recognize maples, oaks, cottonwoods, and sycamores, but a lot of fall seasons have gone by since I helped my daughter with her 5th grade leaf collection and thought I had learned some of those oval types of leaves! o_O

Oldies but goodies, Rob!:thumbsup::cool: Hard to believe that pristine Case is over 50 years old!

I wish I could tie knots like your illustration GT !

The oval leaves are from a Yoshino Cherry Tree in my front yard. Turns out red, orange, and yellow leaves every Autumn. Glad I planted it years ago.

Most of my redbone Cases are from that era and still have the polished blades. Yes - it is hard to believe that many of them are over 50 years old now. 😊

Not going any further than my desk today - not even out in the yard or on the porch so, this Buck 055 should suffice. Sausage and eggs for breakfast. It was good to hear from Jeff @black mamba . Hope all is well with him.

Even though I know it’s a chunk of rock (feldspar?) with a quartz intrusion, it always makes me do a double take. It sure looks like a thick chunk of beef ribs.
Thanks Todd :)

Merci ! :)

Gracias amigo :)
They are the always the highlight of our walks when we go to the bird sanctuary.

Toting my Grohmann slimline :) today that I got at their factory in Pictou, Nova Scotia. It is a "seconds" I got for 1/2 the price.

Here it is posing with a vase decorated with chickadees that @RayseM gifted my wife when he came over for our trip on the Rideau.

A Grohmann at half price is a deal indeed! Nice knife, Dan.

After Isabel took down a tree in our front yard, my youngest son and I replaced it with a Yoshino Cherry …
Sold that house many moons ago, but every once in a while I take a detour to drive past it … and smile at that tree.
Your post brought that same smile.
Thanks for that!
😁

Another pair of knives from my "top ten Case knives" I'm carrying this week.
Another chestnut jigged bone CV Case, this time a sowbelly stockman (a surprise gift from the late Half/Stop):

A red bone 3" half-congress 6269, vintage 1940-1964 (thanks for the GAW, Bill):

is it a grafting knife?
Victorinox calls it the "floral knife," FELCO calls it the "grafting and garden pruning knife." Seems like it'd be excellent in any capacity where you want very fine cuts, I cut up a bit of cardboard with it while comparing to my other knives and was very impressed. It's not super thin stock, 1.8mm at the spine, but a very thin edge.

This tiny 2.75” was in a bundle I bought recently- small blade says made in Germany and the large one is stamped ‘warranted quality’. It has been well used but both carbon blades have great snap and solid lock up….nice bone scales as well.
Definitely a keeper!
I think it is my first knife to have a double nail nick groove - sorry not sure of correct term

Yep they make a good edc. I had the hawkbill version, easy to hone up. I gave it to a mate that really likes it.
Interesting fact the felco branded 1s were cheaper than the plain victorinox 1s here in Australia.😊

Thanks, Todd. I’m digging the conductor. My grandfather always had a Case half whittler in his pocket 😃👍

One if my all times favorites. Great backdrop brother. We had a first true front push thru Monday eve 🤙🏼

Love it!

Great pairing bro 😃👍

Beautiful barlow, my friend. Great stag 👍
Thank you sir! It has been an enjoyable add to the pocket this week.
