You are very welcome my friend . I knew they would be very well cared for . Your photo skills make them look better than I ever could .
How close in size are the 2 Baby Barlows ????
As an aside : I took your advice from some time back and will have some Elijah Craig to share with my Grand Kids this season . I think that comes from near you ?? They do have a great property there and I am going to have to stop in there some day in the future .

Very very close in size. With a measuring tape, looks to be the same. My calipers are broken, but, using a plastic clamp with them side by side, the Fayetteville Knife Co. is a tad shorter and a bit lighter in weight. I contribute the weight difference mostly to the thicker liners on the Oates Barlow.

I also noticed your yellow tape seat repair on your Deere with the knife on the hood. My X300 has that same seat and a 3" tear in the exact same place. Does the tape edges get sticky ?

Enjoy your Elijah Craig and it is about 45 miles from me. Don't go there without letting me know !

I don't envy your Autumn leaves cleanup. 😊

I sometimes have similar thoughts when carrying an Opinel. Lately I’ve been carrying one along with another knife a lot of the time. Hard to beat the slicing ability of that thin blade, or the ease of resharpening when it needs it.

I go between the No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8. I have a couple other No. 8s β€” one with a green painted handle, one with laminated birch β€” but the regular old carbon steel ones get carried most often. I have a carbon No. 5 and No. 9, but they don’t really get carried/used much. I haven’t ventured beyond those sizes in either direction, but might pick up one of each additional size just to round out the β€œcollection.” 😁

All of mine are No. 8's. I might have to try the No. 7 in Carbon. 😊

Thank you sir, always appreciate the ridiculous high quality pictures you take.

Thank you my friend. 😊

The John Deere seats are famous for cracking . So much so that you can buy Duct Tape in John Deere Yellow . The edges of the tape do turn up with wear and they are somewhat sticky . That tractor with the knife on it is an X500 and the one on the right is an X300 and the X500 seat is cracked the most because of its age .

Ram's Horn today. Blame it on btb01 btb01 he inspired me  these are superb knives all round.

Nice choice, Will. They're great knives! Looks great in Ram’s Horn, too.

My first Opinels were a carbon No. 6 and No. 8 that I bought at A.G. Russell back when it was my local knife shop. πŸ™‚ Both a nice size with their own advantages. I eventually bought a No. 7 which is a nice compromise between the two, more pocket-friendly than the No. 8, with more blade than the No. 6. I’ll still carry any of the three depending on the day.
