Looks like you found a special place, my friend. 🤠

TGIF! Have a great weekend!
Wait a second. I thought you said you’d retired. Did I misunderstand?
If you are retired, you no longer need to say things like TGIF, and HUMP DAY, because all the days are the same! 🄸
I’m trying to figure out the plot…
You caught this big water bug eating your beef jerky?
It was great to hear from you today Jeff !!!! As I told you , I have not been posting very much lately because I have been carrying the same knife or knives basically every day . It just happens to be one that Half/Stop Ron gave to me and it is an excellent knife to handle what I do and I really like that I can pinch it open and has a straight edged blade . It is on the hood of the tractor that I took the deck off of and sharpened the blades , cleaned and grease the bearings , and then attached the collector system to it . Still have to put on the discharge turbo and chute . Now I am basically pick up leaves if necessary .

Also in the photo is my ZeroTurn with the mulching deck which I am using to reduce the amount of leaves to pick up this year . Normally I have to pick up 50 to 55 loads of leaves . I also used it today .

Yes, enjoyed our chat, Harry. Here’s where my leaves go ~CBE6F078-225B-4501-9D56-E04EC32B22CD.jpegI make these little corrals to keep them together, and after a year, it’s turned into leaf mold like this…77B0EFB9-C9C3-47D8-9EFF-16A83E0FDA48.jpeg
Right now, I have one corral filled, one partially, and two empty and waiting. šŸ¤“
This is the ā€œearly droppersā€ stuff. When the maples are done showing off, and drop their leaves, I’ll have a huge amount, and then I’ll get out the shredder.
I’m jealous of the leaves you get from your mature trees ~ they’re Gardener’s Gold.
Same here, Jeff. Highs in the 70s tomorrow and Sunday! 😲 I’ll probably spend most of it blowing, raking and bagging leaves. Nice Nifebrite Bull Nose.

My mom was a school teacher, and had a favorite student who later died (I don’t remember the whole story, I think it was a car wreck). She wanted to name me after him, but (thankfully) she and my dad decided that Brent Brown was a bit too alliterative, so they named me after the kid’s brother.

Thanks, Barrett! I believe you have an identical 71, right?

You know how I know your Mom was a teacher?
You used ā€œalliterativeā€ in a sentence.😁

Loaded up with wood handled knives for this Saturday and anticipating my weekly visit from my now 14 month old grandson. Have a fine weekend everyone ! 😊

That kid is going to remember those weekly visits for the rest of his life.

Staying home with our big dog Coco today. She's been sick for about the last month and a half and we've had her to the Vet a few times. Yesterday, they did and X-ray and a Eco-gram and thankfully no masses, tumors, etc. were present. She does have some inflamation around her liver and a kidney but the Vet thinks that he can clear that up with meds so for the next ten days it'll be pills. I offered to let her watch "Scooby Doo" cartoons this morning but she indicated she'd rather watch NASCAR and Baseball so NASCAR and Baseball it'll be. This situation calls for some recliner chair hardware so this Case Sod Buster Jr. should do.

See that maple seed on the leaf? 9E152E32-271C-4D57-A796-EA62E5184023.jpegAbout 35 - 40 years ago, at our first house, our neighgbor, Eileen, had a beautiful Sugar Maple. I took a few seeds from it, and planted them about 3ā€ deep in my garden. When we bought another house and moved a year later, I dug up the seedlings, along with about thirty Black Walnut seedlings I’d started, put them in milk crates, along with all of Grandma’s perrenials, and planted them at the new place.
Here’s that Sugar Maple now, showing off…573D9D39-B2C4-42F3-9A24-9CFF1334AB80.jpeg
I can’t believe how big it’s gotten. Time flies, and yes it’s fun.D28454B2-D758-4AEF-8991-89C86BD2B108.jpeg
Have a stupendously good Saturday.

Sweet companion there, Ed.

Changing the brake pads on my bike (78 Vic lending a hand) when the post man arrives with...

Old Opinel no 6 pre the vibralock,Ive learnt something on here and for the first time in my life I file the kick a smidge to straighten the blade.
I like this one a lot a true usable classic and UK friendly.

Then I open my new and very rare Vic steelman,I have always wanted an Alox model with a file and this is one of the best compact files you can get.

Very nice pattern to the ram's horn. To me it gives a modern knife an old school look.
Right you are! Extremely nice texture on the scales, grippy and tactile, ideal. It's a light knife due to the modern materials and the blade steel responds like magic, may look elegant but it's no shrinking violet when it comes to hard-work  And NO annoyances regards build quality, as it should be- aesthetics and practics:thumbsup:

Thanks, Will

Thanks Jeff. She's a great companion. When we're home, she's sticks pretty close to me. She's a "rescue dog" that we got on Christmas Day 2010.

I think rescued dogs tend to be like that. Manny does the same thing ~ sticks to me like a cokleburr. The fall before he passed, Jason rescued Manny as a wee pup. A friend of a friend knew someone with a litter of pups that were destined for the pound. And even though we weren’t thrilled about it because we already had two older dogs, Manny fit right in to our home and hearts. Now that he’s gone, Manny has become bonded with me.
We’re off to board him now for two days so we can travel east for a funeral. It will feel strange around the house the rest of today.
