What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Getting ready to call the Ford dealer over in Lakeview, Oregon to see if I can get my truck in Thursday morning for a new battery, ignition key switch, and have the cruise control fixed. Then I'll clear the snow off the filler cap of our kerosene fuel tank for a fuel delivery for our heater. Of course you can't do any of this without a knife so, this Case SS Sowbelly is in my pocket. Hash and eggs for breakfast.

This knife slip with blue stitching made me remember that I had a similar watch strap, that was custom made for a watch long since sold. I never thought about putting the strap on my Speedy, but I think it works. #MatchyMonday.

That makes a pretty attractive set to tote ! Nice knives, leather, and Speedmaster !
My son has that watch and some Seamasters ............ he got the collecting bug honestly, however, he went down the watch tributary instead of the knife tributary.
My father gave my mother a simple Omega mechanical watch back in the 1950's and she wore it daily until she passed last year at the age of 92.    😊

Thanks! I've been down the watch collecting rabbit hole also. At one point, I had 22 watches. I would frequently shop for the next one before the previous one had even arrived. I would buy things to try and then sell them at a 25% - 30% loss to fund something else. My bank account wasn't happy. I finally decided to pair it down to 2 nice watches, that I really like, and one beater for yard work, etc. I found that you can drop some cash on the knife hobby, but it's nothing in comparison to the watch hobby.

Condolences on the loss of your Mom and cool story about her Omega. Those old hand wound Omega movements were built to last.

GPS/Map apps on the iphone come in handy on the road, especially for finding an address in an unfamiliar town, but paper maps and the compass in my car get me there just fine.
Going interstate, I always take the latest official state roadmaps that they give away in the rest areas. I have a big binder full.
I have to agree Jeff, I like using map and compass. I come across a lot of folks who are lost, trying to navigate with phone or GPS. Thirty years ago, I was at an outdoor press junket for the weekend. Silva were about to launch a GPS, and their rep bored the pants off a couple of dozen of us, going on way longer than he should. The following day, we went for a walk in the mountains, so that he could show off this groundbreaking piece of kit - the batteries were flat! :D

Bittersweet vines doing their best to pull down a garden gatepost I put in thirty years ago. I originally planted those vines against the house, which I do not recommend.

Cap made in Ireland, owned by a Scotsman who wrote his name on the label with a ballpoint pen, And sold in one of the two Armstrong’s Surplus/Thrift Shops in Edinborough. If you see Hugh Campbell, tell him an ex pat of the Duncan clan of Perth has his cap.View attachment 1988382
Nice get-up Jeff, my cap is very similar, and I had my Barbour on, for the first time since Spring, today
Looking good Kevin, hope you're keeping well amigo :)

Really nicely done swedge on your Northwoods. Is that a single bladed jack?
Well I caught the rascal living under my house... unfortunately now I need to figure out what to do with him now...or rather how not to get sprayed

Oh man… maybe get a chain on the cage, a very long chain, and drag the cage as far away as you can. Then throw a tarp over it so you can open it and run?

If you shoot it, he’s gonna let ‘er rip.

If he gets you, a bathtub full of tomato juice helps. 🤣
