I'm carrying this Schrade 206 today.

...clipped out the pic to not overload the page, its a couple posts up with the comic book background ...

wow. often i find that sort of bolster decoration to be overdone but it looks good there with that sort of caramel colored handle.

today im carrying the yellow buck 301 and the queen sodbuster.

ive not carried either of these knives very much compared to my others so im making an effort to do so. i have to carry a knife for a good old while to really fully form an opinion and i have been carrying other more exotic (to me) knives like douk douks and mercator black cats.
additionally, i am a mediocre sharpener and it takes me a while to get a blade where i want it. i hate to walk around with a knife that isnt sharp enough when i know i can do better.

Yeah, I don't know what it's supposed to be, either. The mini copperhead is dangerous that way -- you start in, and before you know it, hours have passed and you've whittled yourself another inscrutable doohickey.

I was unhappy with the factory dye job on the MCH, and boosted it up with a packet of denim blue RIT. It worked well, but you couldn't tell from this over-contrasty photo, sadly.

Nice Pic Pete, and you've done a great job of that blade.

I have an early start and a long journey tomorrow to attend the funeral of an old Sheffield boy, so I'm taking a piece of old Sheffield with me.
