What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One of my favorite knives that I have gets the pocket by itself for this Monday ............. a jigged bone Cattaraugus Carpenters Whittler that measures 3.75" closed. 😊
Rob your Whittler is divine 👏 I was staring at your photo, and I asked her why she didn't want to share your pocket. Softly, she replied "I don't *have* to." You see faces, I talk to knives and lots of other inanimate objects. Whatever gets you through the day, huh? 🤷‍♂️

Misplaced Hillbilly Misplaced Hillbilly What happened to your sick old goat? If we got an update, pardon, I never saw.

Lots of problems today, but lack of great handbuilt tools is not one of them!

He wasn't my goat, but one I took care of for an elderly disabled lady. Unfortunately we had to put him down Saturday ☹ He was 15 years old and arthritis in his knees made it impossible for him to bear his weight anymore. He was a good old goat. Now I worry for his twin, hopefully she won't waste away from missing him. She's already dangerously thin despite my best efforts and arthritic as well. Thank you for asking.

Jack, when I was a lad, we had a drill (it may have had screwdriver "bits" too) that operated just by pushing it down - some kind of auto-ratchet mechanism I think. We might have called it a "Yankee drill". Do you ever see those at the tool stall?
Yes! 'Yankees' were made by Stanley on both sides of The Pond. Pretty common here, and I still see them regularly. My mate sold one N.I.B. recently 🙂 I'll get a pic the next time I see one 👍

Let's hope not 🤞 but, that does happen rather frequently. Happened to me twice in a six year stretch. One died, the other in about five or six months. :( Dogs the first time, cats the second.

Love the blades on that !
What is going on with the bolsters ( they look dented ) or am I just seeing reflections ?😍
No dents. I think its a combination of reflections and slight distortion caused by the pins. Visible pins are common with Buck nickel/silver bolstered 300 series pocket knives from what I've seen.
