They are certainly a very cool pieces to have in a collection, combined with their benefits for smaller precision or detailed drilling.Yes, they're not good for everything, sometimes you need speed and power!I'm sure tradesmen were happy to get rid of their old drills, something that has happened entirely in our lifetimes. I remember my dad building something at home, (only happened once), and he had to get permission to borrow an electric drill from work!
My mate gets the old, heavier, 'brace and bit' type, (as they are known here), and they still sell, but not as well as the smaller style

Sweet looking metal sheepsfoot that makes a wonderful Monday partner to your Hartshead Barlow; classic folding ruler, as well!Hope everyone has had a good weekend, and that your week gets off to a good startI'm carrying these two today, my Hartshead Barlow, and a small, slim Sheepsfoot by Thomas Turner

I went to Newbury and took something old with me.
I saw the biggest gathering of swans ever, thats about half of them in the photo.
The Empire cafe in a squalid part of town made me smile, glory days.
I also picked up all the wreaths and laid them out neatly, just after I took the photo the wind blew them all over the place, RIP lads job done.

Rob your Whittler is divineI was staring at your photo, and I asked her why she didn't want to share your pocket. Softly, she replied "I don't *have* to." You see faces, I talk to knives and lots of other inanimate objects. Whatever gets you through the day, huh?
