What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Bulldog today while out checking the roads and church parking lot to see if conditions are ok for Christmas Eve services.

Things pretty clear. We definitely got the cold but the snow not so much so.

Even if your profile didn’t give it away, your photos did. That is exactly what it looks like here.
We’re lucky in that there is a long, north-south ridge here left by the most recent glacier, which adds some nice, rolling relief as well as quite a lot of woodland. But in general, you have well represented Illanoys.

Is that an old Osage Orange tree? Don’t tell Greg sunknife sunknife where you are. He’ll steal the trunk for bow staves.

I’m not sure what kind of tree it is. I think maybe an elm. I know it’s not an Osage Orange tree though. None of those on the property, but lots of them out where I usually hunt at Jim Edgar’s Panther creek state park.

Night before last we had 3 inches of snow on top of already fallen snow and then yesterday it was followed by rain. It's a sloppy mess outside now. The main, paved, roads are clear but the secondary and lesser roads are one big mud hole. Jimmy Dean hot sausage and biscuits with gravy for breakfast.

View attachment 2025607That cold wind at 1f. is wicked, so I did not linger over posing my knives out there. Manny has the run of the fenced in back yard, but going out front ~ taking out a bag of garbage, wheeling the can down to the road and back, fetching the mail, a car ride, or taking a knife photo, he’s right there behind me with that look that says “You need me to come along, right?”

Today, he said “hurry up and take your picture, so we can get back inside!”View attachment 2025609

Warmest Christmas Eve blessings, and Happy Hanukkah to you all!View attachment 2025608

Come to think of it I am running low on osage staves. 😈
Merry Christmas to you and all yours, Jeff. 🎄

Pretty sure that big old tree is cottonwood. Panther Creek is a great hunting area, its been a few years since I've been there but love the place.👍
Merry Christmas, kyhunt. :)🎄

My pairing for the day, two well functioning and handy selections from GEC. Made ham, eggs and biscuits for the Mrs and I this morning, then threw a venison roast in the crock for tonight. Likely sip some bourbon this evening while waiting for Santa to show.

You are probably cotton it being cottonwood.

Yes Jim Edgar’s is a great place. Many good times out there with my kids. 👍

You have a Merry Christmas too.
