Merry Christmas Rob. Still kicking but not very knife active lately, especially on BF.
Merry Christmas to all here on the Porch, take all my knives and leave just one, this one! carried often then set aside but back in the pocket of late. It holds more memories then any knife I own, through weddings, funerals, holidays, birthdays to mundane things such as sporting events and such...this is "thee knife" for me, a worry stone and familiar friend (if a knife can be a friend) it just puts a smile on my face
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

What an adorable kittenMerry Christmas everyone!
A couple Red & green Barlows for Christmas. I have plenty of red knives, but this 77 is as close to green as I can get.

Thanks much my friend. Merry Christmas to you. Thanks and Merry Christmas to You.
Come to think of it I am running low on osage staves.![]()
Merry Christmas to you and all yours, Jeff.
Pretty sure that big old tree is cottonwood. Panther Creek is a great hunting area, its been a few years since I've been there but love the place.
Merry Christmas, kyhunt.
My pairing for the day, two well functioning and handy selections from GEC. Made ham, eggs and biscuits for the Mrs and I this morning, then threw a venison roast in the crock for tonight. Likely sip some bourbon this evening while waiting for Santa to show.

They're acacia wood plates that I picked up just to minimize resharpening knives, as opposed to using ceramic plates.I really like your wooden plates. Are they difficult to care for? Are they finished in some way to keep them from swelling and splintering?
ETA: Love the S&M English Jack too!
Thanks, Todd. Every year we get hot chocolate and go look at the Christmas lights. That house is one of my favorites. That’s good news, nice stocking stuffer.
Nope, no bunnies, just several apples and some steak.
Nice scout Bart, love those Christmas lights.![]()
I love how the french knives have the makers mark stamped on the blade and the mark usually includes a cool symbol. I really liked the old guy in the hat the other day.5K Qs Thank you, it's a very satisfying knife in the hand, like many French knives. Big Sheepfoot like you say and similar to your own Barrel knife from Le Sabot. Not expensive yet the F&F is good, the etch GR Gouttière has disappeared due to my patina militancy. The stamped face is I believe, meant to denote Old School carbon knives- les couteaux de nos grand pères- grandad knives. Some old codger face in a hat and beard. Not sure I altogether go along with this...mine were both born in the c19th
GR cutlery is long established I believe and might have a connexion with Gilles Reynewater? Perhaps @Jolipapa can give us the facts in the case? @Knives-of-France might be able to shed light and perhaps be able to supply you with a Gouttière (Gutter) pattern, they're not that common though.
Here's another Gouttière, this time in Horn and a welcome&unexpected present from @Corto_Malt

Thanks, Mark. Back then I actually had time to ponder if I wanted to buy it or not. Glad I did.Love those paper micarta Soda Scouts, looks like delicious carmel…kick myself for not buying one when they were released!
Thanks, FC. The 15 is probably my favorite pattern. Yeah, I get on the ramp for sure, but my son tears it up a lot better than I can. Great ornament and a nice gesture from Jiki![]()
Santa's pretty busy tonight while the wife's working an overnight at the hospital. Managed to snap an awful picture of my wrapping-duty carry (likeEd G I am also coming out as a Xmas Eve wrapper). My kid was pretty stoked to receive the Santa ornament for his Xmas Eve present, carved by one of our own, thanks
Jiki !
Sacto , I dig your urban jack. I'm considering a 15 for present duty tomorrow myself. You getting on that ramp? Merriest of Yuletidings to everyone on the Porch!
apparently he was left a glass of milk and a mince pie which the dog very nearly had himselfJohn, I hope you left out a bottle of suds for Santa. That knife traveled almost as far as he will tonight!![]()
Thank you Bart, a good choice having that fine Jack today. May you and your family have a great Christmas. Thanks, Todd. Every year we get hot chocolate and go look at the Christmas lights. That house is one of my favorites.
