Wearing my new for the New Year hat and carrying my Haze Gray and Underway bone Sod Buster Jr.. You Veterans should get the meaning of "DD-214". It's the form they give us on discharge/separation from the service. The plans for today are to stay home but something might come up later to draw us off the homestead. Sausage and pancakes for breakfast.

I need that hat!

Went for a little cycle,my bike and waterproof (yea right) panniers where stil wet from the last ride.

This time it was allready raining so I put on waterproofs at the start and took stainless steel with me.

Just before I left I had this amazing visitor land in my garden and march around.

It seems to have been raining for a week or more as you can see its close to flood on the river even the ducks where complaining they where wet 😁

I took my gloves of to photo,my hands got went and I couldnt get them back on (gloves that is not my hands 😆) this has happened before (but I forgot) the lining kind of sticks.

Then the battery ran out it just doesnt last half as long as the old stolen bikes battery,so I struggled to cycle home in the lowest gear going very slow and walking up hills.

An electric bike is 10 times as hard to cycle without power compared to a normal bike.

Got home collapsed in my seat 😁

Mallards and Pheasants, just doesn't get much better

Schrade 881Y, and 293Y for a fresh, happy start. I’ll just poke around over by here in my tiny patch of woods for a suitable knife pose while Manny barks at a tree rat.View attachment 2032329
And now that my coffee’s getting cold, a pic on the old table on the deck.View attachment 2032330
Now remember ~ if it looks like the year is starting off like a trainwreck, just turn off the news. Go outside and fill the bird feeder or something.
Nice pairing. Totally agree about filling the bird feeder(s) or as we call them, cat entertainers. Our "kittens", ages 2 to 9 watch the birds and squirrels empty a large feeder. Although the program is short lived some days. News is not worth the energy to me to short through the chaf.

Very nice hat knife. Looks like rays of sunshine on these two. Hope it is a relaxing day for you

Somebody gave you those for Christmas?
That could be fun. I always wonder if there’s any jealousy, or giver’s remorse if one of those gift tickets turns out to be a winner! 🫣
Ever stood in line at the gas station while some goof in pajama pants tried to decide which lottery tickets he wants? Or even worse, scratches them off right then and there as if people weren’t standing there waiting? 🤡
HNY, JB in LV! Hope you scratch off a little jackpot for your knife kitty.

Hi Jeff, thank you, yes, and I still haven’t scratched them. I’d share any “big” winners.

My mother taught me that scratchies are a great idea for a stocking stuffer, Easter basket, birthday/holiday filler, or last-minute gift when you got no idea what to get. A way to keep from giving away a big winner, like a megabucks-powerball ticket, would be to sign the back before you gift them, that way if there’s a winner, they need to come back to you in order to cash it in.

That’s a funny story about pajama pants, no level of self-important rudeness is surprising to me - that could easily be a scene out of Clerks. My brother used to buy tickets, scratch them in the car, take any “winnings” to another convenience store, repeat the process until he won something good or they were all losers. I did not enjoy tagging along on that once.

Started the year off with one I’ve had for a long time but only carried I think once before. Case 47 stockman.

I’ve enjoyed the last couple of months moving some knives into my carry rotation that I’ve had for awhile. I’ll probably continue to do so with the few I have left.7EC239FA-7CC4-449D-A86D-7E50EC4CB3F8.jpeg

Haven't been on much since Monday morning and it shows, ~30 pages behind (29 officially) in this thread. We got in the truck and drove to Charlotte for a few days. Highlights were NASCAR Hall of Fame, visiting the race complex in Concord (Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Dirt Track, and the drag strip), driving on Charlotte Motor Speedway for their Christmas light display (which was awesome, also 24 degrees of banking in the corners is pretty steep). Tried to visit some of the race shops in the area, but they were closed for the holidays. We drove to Raleigh on Thursday and checked out the NC State campus, then Friday night we went to the Hurricanes/Panthers game. It was my boys' first NHL experience and they had a great time. We made it back home yesterday to celebrate New Year's Eve (and my oldest's birthday) at home. This little Boker came with me and has been in my pocket all week, including today. Happy New Year everyone, hope this year is good for you.
