What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

HT Trapper again and for a while I’m guessing.

Pruner.
Santa gave me gift cards to the hardware store. So I bought a new ladder in boxing day salesand giving it try today.

That would be a welcome gift. Two questions for you ~
Is the Vic Pruner the one they call “7”? The one we also call Harvester? I have one, I think the last new knife I bought. Not counting the Rabbit coming tomorrow.

And do your ladders (and almost everything else) come plastered with lawyer warnings?
“Falling can cause death”, “Read cautions in owner’s manual before using”, “The state of California has determined that this product can cause cancer”, etc?
Here in the US, it’s gotten quite laughable.
Of course, I admit to knowing a few people who don’t know which is the business end of a hammer or shovel, but their brother in law is a lawyer….

WOW! Nicer views are always welcome👏

All Barlows for Monday, the bottom two for most of the day and the top two in the late afternoon. 😊

When one has too many knives, it may be necessary to rotate more frequently.🤔

Does one of those “speak to you” more than the others? I think the SCC is amazing.
Harry gave me one, and it’s a gem.
Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Seems that is one way of getting seeds that are losing the chemistry/genetic modifications.

Awesome sunset and knives
Fortunately, I have found seed suppliers who specialize in heirloom, open pollinated varieties. But commercial growers are forced to grow what the big stores want, like the hard, tasteless tomatoes we get in the grocery store. They arrive hard and green, so they can be trucked hundreds of miles, and then are gassed to make them turn red for display.

Day 2 of the new year. I spent some time with my new Fox Cutlery Livri today, that arrived new years eve.

The Ziricote handles looked a little dry, so they got a Formby's lemon oil treatment. I love the smell of Formby's in the morning! :D The Ziricote is some nicely figured wood.

The knife was a little tight on the action, but it's getting better with some oil and repeated opening/closing. I'm still getting used to the new to me method Fox uses for securing the blade in the open and half stop positions. The cam tang is notched in two places and there is a protrusion on the end of the back spring that drops into these notches when in the half stop and open positions. You have to push pretty hard to move through the notch from open to half stop, and harder still from half stop to closed. Interesting.

I really like the blade! Nice and wide, great swedge and came screaming sharp. M390 is a great cutlery steel. I need to cut something soon!

One little problem. There is a tiny flat spot near the blade tip. This might have happened when I was closing it. The blade really snapped shut hard, bouncing off the lanyard tube, I think. When I close it slowly, which I try to always do, it doesn't make contact. The flat is miniscule and in no way will it the affect the performance. I can see it when I zoom in on the tip in the first two pics, especially the second one.

Anyway, pics or it didn't happen!

The Livri, is known for a little blade rap. Sweet little knives though, I like the blade shape. I had a micarta one with no liners that weighed almost nothing!

It's a handsome knife and I like the blade grinds, as well as the wood. 😊
I can't tell what releases the blade from being locked. 🤔🤔🤔

WOW - what a beauty Jim ! 😲 :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:😊
Wish I had my first knife.
Thanks, Rob. That knife had been stowed in a box during the course of several moves over the years, and I had forgotten all about it. Couldn't believe it when I finally went through some things and re-discovered it. That was a good moment. ;)

Only 4?
get a grip 😂

Not four all day ...... two until late afternoon, then switch to the other two. 😲🤣

Didn't know one could have too many knives ! 😲😊 Mr. Jack and Waynorth are in big trouble, if that is the case. Not me. 🤣
It might be a tie between the Keen Kutter and the New York Knife as my favorite of those four, but, that is always subject to change. Hard to say really.
Enjoyed seeing the Scrimshawed Bass.😊
