What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The ol' slimline told me yesterday to put her in my pocket today, she wants to be used! Ok, I won't argue.

Sam,

Its just the lighting and angles. I actually made the edges even more defined and crisp than from the factory by sanding the flats down on sanpaper on glass as the last step :)

Very crisp lines that meet the contours.

Yeah, thanks for putting me onto these as an actual EDC.

Picked her up yesterday, oiled her, cleaned her up a little, and sharpened each blade. Into the pocket!
My only whittler right now. Seriously impressed with the construction.
Snap on the main is a solid 8. The secondary coping and clip (!) have a pull of 6 or so.
The springs are perfectly flush open and closed. The main is perfectly centered between the two smaller blades.
Just blown away.

Yes planters, horn, very pretty and warm to the touch...I just opened some very thick cardboard boxes with her...the point makes a great entry for a start cut. The steel keeps a razor edge, and it is as light as a feather in the pocket.

Back to my weekend Opi. I like this one about ten times more than the standard version I carried to work. The walnut is getting amazing in person. Sorry for another cell pic.

Kevin, great Opi's both of them! I have never ventured down that road but wonder why not when they are so highly touted!!!

I can't get over how nice that gunstock one you made is.

Paul

Thanks Paul, I'm surprise too :)

I like them both very much, its just the gunstock is exactly how I want.

As for not edc'ing an opinel, I don't know. I went this long without trying. I think the 10$ stigma could be a big part of it. Once I got over that I feel silly for waiting so long.

Kevin

Kevin & Paul, if I had to give up all my cutlery ( I'm happy I don't have to ) and keep only one knife, I would pick my Opinel #9, it is the do all knife, I at one time only carried a Opinel and a Vic SAK, and decided I wanted nicer knives, nothing can out perform the Opinel, at the job site, in the kitchen or the campsite.
