What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Visiting York today. Carrying my GEC 66 Jack and Case Sodbuster, shown here atop the ancient city walls.

In honor of the page number, i'm carrying a tiny Opinel no4, with mod12c27 steel. Tiny as a pea, and sharp as a razor.

I've thought of putting a pruner blade in my red farmer instead of the can opener, can't decide, the farmer is kinda perfect as is :)

Cool. I'd like to have one done by him, but I can't think of any worthwhile mods to my Farmer. I had a red Cadet, but I gave it to my wife as she needed a knife and likes SAKS.

old picture but this again today:

I had just gotten the color darker on this cherry oiling it and letting it sit out in the sun and then I dropped it on concrete. CRUNCH I have never watched a knife get so damaged from one drop. Every part of the wood mangled, the entired edge torn up. Oh well, this time I only took 5 minutes to reshape the handle to get rid of all the chips and chunks out of the wood and unfortunately took off a decent amount of blade to get most chips out. Anyhow, the following cell pics show for Sam how I finish up the edges. Very quick and very simple :)

Sorry to hear about the drop, Kevin. You sure have some skills. She looks perfect. I had one roll off the ole stump when I was photographing it. What a bummer it is. I just could not catch it in time. No more pictures from me.

Thanks Gevonovich, my friend. It really frustrated me. I was actually just wiping it off for a picture. Another time I had my pearl whittler hit the concrete during a photo shoot. I think I'm with you. Less pics and over something soft like grass from now on :-p

Can't get a pic to load, but I have my wise sodbuster on me right now. The d2 on this knife holds an amazing edge!

Sorry to hear that Kevin, it's one of the worst feelings when you drop a knife.
My worst drop was actually this Carter, from about 1.5 meters edge first onto cobblestones :(

I should take a new picture when the weather is better, the Charlow isn't very shiny anymore :)

Sorry about the knife falling Kevin. But, it certainly looks gorgeous now.

It's a dangerous thing, photographing a knife. Can be hazardous to knife and fingers, if the knife slips. Got a goodly gash once when I was photographing a knife. It slipped and out of instinct I grabbed it to keep it from falling. Wrong reflex. Glad you had better reflexes.
