What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Another pair from the New York Knife Co. for Tuesday. While the ink on the Hammer Brand logo on the blade of the EO jack has worn away, the etch is clearly visible when you tilt the blade to the proper angle. 😊 Difficult to capture the etch in a photo ....... at least for old men. ;) 🤣

A couple fantastic old knives! I particularly like that EO Hammer Brand. Very cool.

The little weird knife today...

How do you like it, Paul? I’m a big fan of the #25 pattern so I’m hoping to pick up at least one — hopefully the Barglow Acrylic.

#25 and #81

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… that’s one of the best looking knives GEC have ever made. I need to carry mine again.

I’ve been carrying this Opinel No. 7 a lot lately.

This recovered #44 has seen a lot of pocket time recently as well, with some other knives swapped in here and there. (I need to do a better job of posting in this thread in a regular basis.)

Nice!!! a blade delete or did they make a single blade Canoe?
Thanks!
It's a blade delete. Open pen blade on a small grinding wheel; for the finish filed, sanded and polished.
Action and tightness of the main spear is good. A little off center in the closed position, because the rest of the small blade remained.
Handle grip is very comfortable.

Been coon fingering and chicken eyeing these two Boker's received yesterday. Very good/excellent F&F. Very nicely made knives. Copper's something different for me. Kind of cool, eh? A few of you have had an influence on me. Hey, I just realized you guys are "influencers". How hip is that? I also just realized that "influencer" is somewhat synonymous with "enabler" :p
But, I digress...

Beautiful Knives and photos my friend and your " Turtles All The Way Down "comment just reminds me of a joke that heard 40 or 50 years ago and have never forgotten . Thanks for the chuckle .

Harry
Practice getting the punchline right, so you can tell us that joke next month.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one with CARDBOARD my friend . For me it is usually only about a 2 hour job . I hate to think how big a job it is for @paulhilborn . But he is a young guy .

Harry

2 hours !!! 😲
Where is all the cardboard coming from that you guys are cutting up ............ did it drop off the China Balloon ? 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤣

He can't be that young .............. he's been around the porch a long time. Just how old are you Paul ? 😲🤔🤔

I'm going to have to stop being so abstemious! 🤣 😉

I wish you fellers would quit using words and phrases I don't understand. I already had to look up French this morning and my desk don't have room for any more books. 😲🤔🤔🤣

Thanks, Jeff. I don’t remember if I brought that one with me to Janesville last year, but I’ll probably bring it along this year.

Thank you and I like your No. 7 quite a bit.😊

Thanks! There are certainly more interesting and more beautiful knives out there, but it’s hard to beat the cutting ability of an Opinel, at least for the stuff I usually use my pocket knives for. And I’ve found the No. 7 to be the Goldilocks size for me… just right.
