What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Along with my Redbone Buck 303 (standard pocket fare), I'm carrying this Victorinox Classic SD. I'm thinking it qualifies as a Thrifty Thursday offering, as well as the fact that it's been in my watch pocket for the past day or two. I'm trying to decide if I want to send it off for new scales or leave it as is - no pocket slip required as is. Other than the scales being pretty well beaten, the knife is in great condition. This was a gifted knife from a long time friend: it came in a batch of miscellaneous used knives he sent to me some time back. Let's face it, one cannot deny that the Victorinox or Wenger knife is an engineering marvel.

That knife as is is alive with character. Recover it and you'll kill it. Just my .02¢

Ha! That's about what I was thinking. As I peruse the multitude of knives shown on these pages, I can't help but admire those that show their life's work. Sure, this little guy isn't pocketworn bone, or well worn and chipped wood, but its present condition does say a lot about its life. It surely would be nice to be able to figure out just what it's saying though. I suppose that's what the imagination is for, huh?

Then the mail showed up, and now, due to the wild generosity of Jack Black Jack Black I unexpectedly but quite delightedly have this in my pocket:

Update for Modoc ED Modoc ED on Lacey: the tumor on her gum is malignant, but not the kind that metastasizes, so removing it will probably be enough (doc said it's in a "favorable location", although I'd suggest in not being in my dog at all would be even more favorable). She's getting part of her lower jaw removed tomorrow morning, which they are telling us is pretty straightforward and goes really well for dogs. Prayers, vibes, smoke, and good thoughts for Lacey are all appreciated.

Have a nice day ;)

No snow here it melts when it lands so we just have a grey wet miserable day. 🫣
It snowed all day here yesterday, but didn't settle. We got 2 or 3 inches overnight, which has caused major disruption of course! :D Hope you get some sunshine soon

5K Qs 5K Qs Not thought about that GT ...I'm attempting to show a different knife each month on this year's wildlife calendar- but do I have enough knives??? :D Calendars here are in both of the National languages as you'll see, they contain details of name days-most common names have a name day and small gifts are sometimes given etc.
The thing about starting on Monday is that time is structured here for businesses, schools, colleges, universities etc around week numbers, people take holidays in weeks 17-20 e.g. and the current week number is 10. Schools and colleges have recently had their winter ski-ing or sport holiday and it is zoned around the country in three bands so not everybody is off at once, so weeks 7,8,9 are set aside.

Knife aspect :)

Thinking of Lacey this morning, and hoping all goes well. Hang in there little furry friend.

Bob, I'm in love with that worm groove bone stockman of yours. I have a similarly hafted Boker they called Indian Trails jigging.
