What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Unclekurty, that's a beautiful Bobby Toole, and for what it's worth, it looks like a lambsfoot to me, too. What is the closed length?

She's coming home - we'll bring her back Monday morning.

Thanks - me too!

Thank you!

Is that a tail-lock lambsfoot? Most interesting! Please tell us more.
I’m so sorry about Lacey and my apologies for the late reply . I hope Lacey will recover quickly after her day on Monday . My prayers will be with her and please give her some extra hugs and treats for me this weekend :)

That sounds positive Tyson, I hope that the three of you will be able to relax over the weekend

Glad you have good neighbours! That's a fancy one Kurt
Thanks Jack!

Good plan! Thanks!

Then the mail showed up, and now, due to the wild generosity of Jack Black Jack Black I unexpectedly but quite delightedly have this in my pocket:

Update for @Modoc ED on Lacey: the tumor on her gum is malignant, but not the kind that metastasizes, so removing it will probably be enough (doc said it's in a "favorable location", although I'd suggest in not being in my dog at all would be even more favorable). She's getting part of her lower jaw removed tomorrow morning, which they are telling us is pretty straightforward and goes really well for dogs. Prayers, vibes, smoke, and good thoughts for Lacey are all appreciated.

I think Mr. Jack would be proud to see you make good use of that fine Barlow.
I want to add my hope for a positive outcome for your Lacey. I know how stressful it is to see your pet in distress. 🤞🙏😊

Laid these two out on the kitchen counter for a pic of todays carry. Anytime there is activity in the kitchen ole Roy is there to investigate, after all there may be food involved. :)
Recovered Pal cattle punch and a stag stamped B. Svoboda Solingen Germany.

Two stunners right there ! 😲:thumbsup:😍

Great to be able to tick a few things off the list eh Mr P? :) Mine never seems to get much shorter! ;)

I am relieved to not have to worry about getting wet the next time the hard rains come. I had to find an old friend (retired roofer) to get the job done.
I tracked him down on his farm tractor, way out in the country. ;)😊

That Hartshead looks rather small compared to that big ole Skinner & Johnson No3 Long-handled (4ft) Yorkshire Pattern Billhook/Slasher. 😊

Got these two recovers in the pocket today. 93 lamb in curly mango and a 85 in desert ironwood.

Beautiful Desert Ironwood on that crown lifter Paul !😊

Very nice Mr.P. I would be heading for the couch after your excursions. 😮‍💨

Would have to be a recliner around here my friend.
The cats I used to have tore the stuffing out of my last couch ....... I got tired of mending it and I replaced it with an old antique bench.
That bench is what you and others are probably tired of seeing used as a background in many of my pics. ;)😊

Love the Patton fixed blade Eliis ! 😲😍

The coat on your German knife is a beauty, as well as, your 4 legged friend.👍

If its carbon why no patina or rust?

I sanded the handle smooth and put 4 coats of Danish oil on it.

It is so sharp that even though its light and my hand is week/in pain I could chop through this branch in no time, the sharpest knife ive ever owned.

The perfect outdoors knife paired today with a Farmer.

It’s 4 inches. I forgot to mention it’s a Native pattern. I do have another Native and the blade is close to this one but the edge has a radius. This one is straight like a lamb. And the top of the blade has an angle on it like a lamb too. The COA doesn’t mention the blade shape.

I think the only solution is that we need more pictures to make a judgement on whether or not it's a lambsfoot. (And to admire that knife!)

So right, Harry. I like to carry knives suited for for what I think I might get into. Unfortunately, some days pass without anything more serious than opening a pack of suet for the woodpeckers ~ and the blackbirds😏

Check your phone ~ I left you a text.

Welcome to the Brotherhood of Wengerites!

XX+XX = Goodness2 👌

Well, Happy Birthday, Jim!👏
The bad news is that it’s going to be hard to top this year’s birthday present.
The good news is that you have a year to look around.

Kudos to you and Jack for the kind gifting!
Best wishes for your Best Friend, Tyson.
Is Lacey a Blue Heeler? Looks like a real lovebug.

You can find vendors on the big auction site selling SAK scales and accesories. I have bought new celidor scales to brighten up old ones. They just snap on and off.
The advantage of the celidor is that they let you have the tweezers and toothpick. I’ve needed those tweezers many times to yank out splinters and thorns from my hands.

It looks just like that here, too. Ain’t it purty?
Nice Buck!
How’d it go at the Toolman’s booth yesterday? Any antique tools come home with you?

Great looking old Camillus cutlery, Bob!

You do? Me too!

Thank you. That is true. But I only buy from sellers in the US anymore, and I could send it right to Victorinox (US) and get scales replaced for five bucks, plus whatever it cost me to ship it. I can't come close to that in the bay.

Good-looking bunch :)

Thank you, my friends. :) Jason Ritchie did the rosewood and shield recover on the Pal Cut knife, flawless work I would add. The B. Svboda knife I lucked into on the big auction site maybe 5-6 years ago. The dog came into our lives 1-1/2 years ago, he's been a good companion to us.
