speaking of scales, these bone covers are odd to me, the jigged areas have soft fluffy stuff, almost like cloth, you can carve that off as well to knock down any areas that are sticking up.

Very interesting Gary. It has a WOW look to it ....... not sure I would like the fluffy stuff ...... I wonder what that is on Buffalo horn ?

Birthday came and went and I don't like much fuss over them anymore. I was just wishing for no more lost shingles ... so wish granted. 3 tornados about 80 miles west of me.
A local friend my age texted me Wednesday and told me he was going to start claiming a year younger from now on.
I think I am going to have to do more local shopping for old knives. Last two stops .... came away with good stuff.

Glad you escaped the whirlies. We had 5 last week in our area. First time for me in Jersey. Glad you are finding some treasures close by.
I share the sentiments about b'days. Just wish they came slower.

Had been carrying Benchmades the last few days, but I picked this up today so it is going to ride in my pocket for a few days. I wanted one of these so bad when I was in the scouts back in the late 70's, early 80's but couldn't afford it. I am only 40 years late
