It’s a knife that school kids had from 1940s-1960s in Sweden. I guess there was only forks in the school kithenBeautiful job.
What's a school knife?
Good to hear Todd, thanks buddyWe did Jack, thanks.
Starting the week off right Jack.![]()
Very coolAmir Fleschwund
The barlow is made from a blade and spring from an 1960s school knife
It was satisfying to save an old workhorse
You should absolutely give modding/building a go, very nice to have the knife you want as you want it![]()
One of those knives you're not allowed to take to school anymore! What's a school knife?
Even in Sweden, I'll bet.One of those knives you're not allowed to take to school anymore!![]()

Since the pen-knife was redundant all “pocket knives” were to have a corkscrew back in the day. School knives only came with a blade, maybe there is some history to be found somewhere that tells what the intended purpose was in school?Good to hear Todd, thanks buddy![]()

Well, I’ve busted apart a number of “regular” slipjoints, and put them back together ~ TL-29s, jacks, barliow, sodbuster, stockman…usually with scales I’ve made, and sometimes with changed or deleted blades.Amir Fleschwund

Great refurbishing Jeff. Nice pair.Same spot as yesterday’s photo, but slightly different weather.View attachment 2155442
Totin a $6 fleamarket score, a 53+ year old Camillus #68 Stockman. It was in a box of mostly junky broken old Boy Scout Imperials and Colonials. Encrusted with old grease and grime, with the bone faded to a weird beige.
My oldest Opinel, bought out of an outdoor supply catalog in the ‘70s. Years later, I dropped it on concrete, and busted the tip off. So it sat in a toolbox, until I came across it much later, and re-ground the blade. Then re-shaped the beechwood.View attachment 2155443
Nice choices, Jose’.
I should tote the 5 more often…
