What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We'll be leaving in a bit for a visit to the Podiatrist (toe doc) for a nail trim for me. It seems quite a few days a month are reserved for visits to the doctor these days, if not for me for Cindy. Oh well, it gets us out of the house and to the Wagon Wheel Cafe more often. I'll carry "Patch" my slammed in a truck door, cracked and chipped, shield fell out of when the truck door slammed, patched with J-B Weld, Case CV Sod Buster Jr..

Have a good one, Ed! slammed, cracked chipped, patched ! Kinda like us old guys, eh? 😂

Dynamic duo Gary👍🏻great damascus pattern...and yes, any day that ends in y is a holiday!😃
Thanks, Bob! I'm pretty sure it is Damasteel's Rose Pattern stainless damascus.
Y days work for me! Or don't work.. You know what I mean! 😂

If it bothered you, I’ll bet some potasium permanganate would give it a reddish brown color to match the bone. That’s if it bothered you, which I suspect it does not.
Nothing wrong with battle scars and field expedient surgery.
There was a question on another thread concerning worm groove bone handles…I pulled a few out and they were still out this morning. My question this morning, was there ever a naturally occurring worm groove?View attachment 2163337
Or Cougar Clawed Bone?
Lots of worm grooves under the bark of ash trees killed by the Emerald Ash Borer…
Maybe they were imitating that?

Nice pocket cutlery, Markeologist!

It's so... shiny.

So, how're you liking the Expedition so far?
The texture is fantastic being on a smaller knife and the blasted blade is nice, it's not so shiny. I know what you mean about shiny, it's just that I rotate knives so often I can't get a patina going! 😂 Honestly, I love it! It seems to be the one I reach for the most in my Boker drawer.

What a fine pair Mr.P👍🏻....but you cannot pose a fine side by side without some info!!😀

Thank you Mr. R. ................... It's a fairly old Belgium made side by side 12 gauge. No makers name on it, just a lot of marks and stamps under the barrels and on the frame. I researched it as good as I could and have it down as F.N. made, but, I'm not absolutely sure of it. Shoots a nice pattern and the hand checkering is beautiful. I would call it field grade. 😊 I reckon I have had it for around ten years .......... not apt to be sold till I kick the bucket. 😊

Just beautiful as usual, Mr. P!
The bone on that Case is stunning.

Thank you Ed !😊

I love that Case sheath knife. It should do for security on your walk, along with the SxS.

I love the Case made leather hunters too Jeff. A fantastic knife for hunting and camping, wicked sharp right out of the box, and finely crafted ..... still. Very nice quality sheaths are included. I just got this one in from a Case dealer and it is as good as my 2010 Leather Drop point. Probably all a hunter or camper would really ever need in a fixed blade.😊 I've put the drop point to the test too.

Not going to tote that SxS on my walk ....... it's back in the rack today. .......................... but it would be convincing ! 🤣
That gang of three in the big noisy truck swerved towards me a few weeks ago and sent me hopping off the edge of the road, in the grass. 🤬
I considered totin' a pocket full of roofing nails, but, decided they would probably end up in my new tires.

Monday again! Oh wait.... not so bad when you are retired! :D ;)

Can’t be cougar clawed on the Forest Ranger…and not a groove either as its raised:

Yeah, I’ve seen tracks under bark…seen it in bone too but it is a sign of poor health and the bone is not solid, would seem a poor choice for use for knife handles.

There's a pile behind that pile. 44 cu yds so far with more fill on the way
Then a bucket skidder to spread it all out before laying down some fresh top soil
Gonna get'er leveled out before taking that old fence out and expanding
A good work knife for a good work day in Lower Alabama :)
