What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jack, I'd have agreed with you 10 years ago, but there are some recent days during which I can believe that I'm actually "eleventy-one" years old (2023 - 1912 = 111), as Bilbo Baggins stated his age during his birthday party at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Rings, and claimed he felt "thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped across too much bread".)
I know what you mean my friend, I sometimes feel half as old as time myself! I hope you manage to keep some spring in your step :)
Prestigious pair of knives, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:
If I've been traveling, I still get kind of excited by the prospect of going where I have access to a fridge! 😁
Thanks Gary :D :)
Yeah.
I deleted 'em.
I don't think you said anything out of line Jer, and you were subtle in not saying it :D ;)
Two spectacular knives there Paul
Great pairing David :)
Thank you kindly, Jack!!! :)

Another princely pairing for a peaceful Sunday; your Varusteleka is about my all time favorite hard use fixed blade!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Many thanks my friend, that's great to hear  :)
I had a Double Stag Lambsfoot Sunday. :)
Happy Double Lambsfoot Day JJ :) Two lovely Lambs lazing lusciously :D Handsome photo :)
Is that… swedish camo I see? 😨

😁
It is! :D Just a T-shirt ;) :D

Have a good week everyone

Spent a few days at the summer cottage and had these with me. The Casström is really one of the best bushcraft knives I have had, not for fine work though but handles firewood really well. The smaller Polar puukko is a bit of a disappointment. The handle is slippery and ergonomics are off in my opinion. The blade is fine though, but there is a gap between the blade and the front plate.

I received this beautiful gift from Yann, Corto_Malt Corto_Malt . It is a special Laguiole. In addition to the usual clip, it has what we would call a punch. However, this tool would have a special use for a French farmer. If the stomach of one of his cows began to bloat to a degree which threatened the life of the cow, the farmer could use the tool to release the harmful gas. Just like puncturing a balloon! Thank you Yann.
You made some great pictures of this knife.
I hope it will have a use in your life
Thank you for these moments shared from afar.

Had a great weekend in the Tennessee hills above Chattanooga this weekend. Just have this one ole knife with me. It did a fine job with all random tasks.

Beautiful area around Chattanooga. Worked near there for a while in the 90's.
Thank you Brother !
Been with my company for over 8 years so I get like 3 a year . My previous employer I was there going 15 years and got 5 weeks a year and kind of miss it lol.
I know what you mean.
I do not get paid time off with this employer but I knew that going back.

That beautiful 85 seems to be giving you superpowers: able to leap fences at a single bound, able to pluck iron spike right out of railroad ties! 🤓
Belated birthday greeting to Joseph!:cool::thumbsup:
(Is CSX a "descendant" of the old C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio) line I used to see?)

- GT
Indeed. I had to look it up, but CSX stands for Chessie Seaboard and is a conglomerate of many railroads- one of which was the old C&O. Funny what you’ll get into when your kids are interested 👍🏼.
Glad all went well Jon. I'm sure your sweet knife held its own.
Thanks Bob. It was nice to get out of town for a bit.

No doubt. Chattanooga is a great place to live or visit. I’ve enjoyed visiting my in-laws there for the past 18 years. Great city surrounded by some great nature.
