I'm glad everyone survived their mishaps without substantial damage!
Gravity must have been especially strong last Friday! I took our little dog for a walk in the afternoon and decided to check the schedule on the front door of the local library branch to see what their holiday hours were. Somehow I tripped going up the stairs and pitched forward. I managed to get my hands down in front of me, but one of them was holding the dog's leash and I twisted awkwardly on the way down to avoid landing on the dog, so most of my weight ended up on my right arm. Scuffed up the leash hand a little on the cement, and worried that I had jammed my right shoulder, but the shoulder was OK after a few blocks.
That morning, I tried to entertain the dog by stepping up about 30" onto the top of the front wall (made of treated 4x4s) of one of our raised garden beds in the back yard. I got up OK, but found out that a 4" space at the top isn't enough for me to balance on anymore and I tipped off backwards toward the ground. Turned myself in the air so I could land forward but then pitched forward over the front of the second raised bed about 5 feet away and crashed into the chain link fence on the other side of that second bed. Really nothing hurt except my pride, and the dog was not even entertained by all my unplanned activity!
Yeah, balance and strength are 2 things I'm working on. I try to do a variety of stretching and range-of-motion exercises when I get up each morning, but the older I get, the longer that morning routine takes me because I have to keep adding things to my routine as I discover new stiffness or aches or whatever. I also do a bunch of weight-lifting exercises at least 3 times a week; it's not to build muscle, I just want to slow down the rate of muscle atrophy.
Not easy for me either. I still play basketball twice a week with guys who are all younger than me (some by at least 40 years). I can't jump much anymore, so I don't try that very often, but I can still pass and shoot and defend reasonably well (especially since I know almost everyone's moves). But last Tuesday I didn't react fast enough to a guy changing direction unexpectedly on offense and the top of his head smashed into my right eye socket. We both sat out of the game for a few minutes trying to decide if we were conscious, then got back to playing. He ended up getting a couple of staples in his scalp afterwards where it had split open from the impact; I had a tiny cut on my eyelid, and the skin around my upper eyelid turned red and swelled slightly for a couple of days. All's well that ends well, but I don't think the collision would have even happened 20, or even 10, years ago.

I have not encountered this beer before. Typical stout or better?
Is this the new jack you got recently cleaned up - now with a bit of dye added??? Or is this a different lil beauty? I can’t remember if that one was a Schrade or not. The jigging looks similar.Thank you everyone who put time in to serve our country.View attachment 2201767

Well said brother.Blessings to all on this Memorial Day. Tremendous gratitude to anyone who has lost loved ones in the line of duty, protecting everything we hold dear. The term hero has been watered down quite a bit in todays culture, but those that serve, have served, and have lost their life are true heroes - thank you.
The grill died and I haven’t replaced it yet, so I air fried the steaks this evening. Cooked a little longer than I wanted, but was still flavorful and juicy. I also broke open the good stuff; Willett small batch Rye.
