Thanks for the call yesterday. Good to stay in touch. You weren’t kidding about the air quality. Don’t look at the National Weather service warnings about smoke particulates getting into your blood stream!
Speaking of the Schrade 18OT you found at the antique store, which your better half promptly confiscated, here’s that little guy that glennbad glennbad generously gave me.42819D9E-AD08-450E-AB9B-787707AE0D64.jpeg
Schrade Walden 766 skillfully re-hafted in dark stag.
Looking into this model, I found that Schrade called it a Wharncliffe.

Have a nice day :)
I like the blade design on that top knife, Yann. It reminds me of an old Spyderco I have which I can’t show here.😉
Nice burl on a great pattern, Travis. 🤙

That's interesting Jeff, it's definitely a Wharncliffe FRAME, though to be a Wharncliffe KNIFE, it would need to combine a Wharncliffe blade, and a Pen blade on that frame  Great cap BTW ;)

I’ve been growing a certain variety of heirloom cherry tomato called Fencerow Cherry. The story is that it was found growing wild along a fence on a backroad near Paris, Illinois. It grows monstrously, with vines rambling all over, and makes loads of very good tasting cherry tomatoes. They’re large for cherries, just a little smaller than a golf ball.
The folks i buy my tomato seeds from got hold of some seed, propagated them, and began selling them. They have discontinued it, but I have seeds, now.
Last year, even after eating them in salads every day, and giving away bags and boxes full, we couldn’t keep up. During fall cleanup, I tossed buckets full toward the end of the row, and a bunch ended up in my herb garden, too. So now I have a boatload of volunteers. I’ve let some stay, and will grow them out, but have yanked and tossed dozens. These were too nice to trash, so I asked the staff at my daughter’s adult day program if I could donate and plant them in their garden. I mentioned two, but will see if they’ll take four.7D65CC2B-FA2D-4068-83ED-9F547CA53EC2.jpeg

I thought the same, but never argue with vintage Schrade catalogs.
It’s just like the frame they called Serpentine Jack. 194,294,94,293…
One blade, two ~ spear and pen,or spear and spey (trapper), didn’t matter. They were all called Serpentine Jack.
