Bike meet carry on Monday,at home I mostly carry my Canadian Case sent to me by Dan its sharp and cuts well.

Note the Kawasaki Z6 built by a engineering genius hacksawed the crankcases by hand. 🤔

Estimate was 14,000 bikes on a school night from all over the country, thats impressive

The kids tables and chairs at the primary school where the big tough bikers order cups of teas and cup cakes get harder to get out of every year. 😁

Ive been coming to this meet so many decades now the original kids are parents with their own kids.

Old is old cant change it.

This week I'm off my rotation schedule and carrying the knives I've obtained in this calendar year. Today I'll post 3 Father's Day gifts.
First is a gift from my wife that totally surprised me on Father's Day. (She said she had a knife for me, but I could wait for my birthday or Christmas. We agreed I should probably receive it on Father's Day, since there was no guarantee either of us would remember it , or where it was, 6 months from now.) It's a Marbles Safety Folder, which is a much more interesting knife than I realized. It's probably as close as I'll ever come to getting a Bowie knife. I like it a lot, but the swing guards get in the way for food prep when I want to use the spine of the blade to "sweep" cut vegetables into a bowl.

My other two Father's Day knives are French knives that were not a surprise at all since I ordered them myself on Father's Day. I had them sent to my work address, since the mailboxes are more secure there than my front porch is. Unfortunately, due to some summer construction and reassignment of space, our departmental mailboxes are SO secure that I couldn't pick up the knives until Tuesday, even though they arrived on campus last Thursday. (The mailboxes are in a new (tiny) office for the departmental administrative assistant, and none of the faculty members' keys can open her new office, contrary to the situation for the past 40+ years at least. And she was out of the office Thursday and Friday last week, and I was busy with fallen tree limbs on Monday.)
One of my new French knives is my first example of the Le Thiers pattern. It has a 4.73" satin-finished brass handle and stainless blade. Looks good to me, has good action, but I haven't used it at all yet.

My second French knife is a stainless Opinel #8 with laminated birch handle. Expensive for an Opinel, but it sure is handsome (to me). Comes with a fancy box and card, too.

Quite an interesting trio of knives Gary. Each one have virtues which are appealing in their own way.
I really like your choice with regards to the Le Thiers. Congrats.👌

Great pics John. Saw one with the Church of 81member. I’ll have to show it to my son who is also a Church member. Ride hard die free!

These two again today. I’ve had this little Krein in my pocket pretty much every day since I got it a little while back.

Many years ago, I was friends with their Bishop here. He's getting on now, but still active with their congregation in Kent I believe 👍
