What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looks like you've been in the trenches Jeff! :D Nice haul buddy :)

Thank you very much Steve :)
Thanks, Mate!
I’m looking forward to photos of your blackberries when they ripen.
When we were in Scotland, it was precisely when they ripened, and there are bramble patches all over Edinburgh. And people just walk right past them!
“Jeff! Hurry up, we’ll miss the bus!”
“But lookit these blackberries!”
Where I grew up, deep south, we called those blackberries. Being up north, I have heard them referred to as black raspberries. Nice haul. Some homemade vanilla ice cream with a handful on top makes for a cooling afternoon snack. No I am hungry.
They will be blessed by the music you play.

Thank you. For today, right front pocket. I have an open top sheath for another large single blade that it might get pare with. Have to pull it out of the sheath drawer.
Yeah, different names, same delicious!
I have a huge patch of some variety of domestic Blackberries that invaded over the neighbor’s fence some 35 years ago. They ripped theirs’ out because they have absolutely wicked thorns, but mine are thriving. Last fall, I hacked pathways through them, put down cardboard, and about ten inches of woodchips. Before, I could not get in there. I also pruned all the dead canes out, which should make it easier to get at the berries. The blackberries are huge compared to the wild black raspberries ~ like the last joint of my thumb. They will ripen later.
Between rehearsal and service right now.
My first time going direct to the board with no amp with an electric guitar. I put together a special pedal board including an amp/speaker cab emulator I spent too much money on. But it sounds great🤙
The picture isn’t that great is why I didn’t post it, but you get the idea. Next time I go back there I’ll try to get some better pictures. Going fishing somewhere tomorrow but haven’t decided where yet. Enjoy your Sunday!

Around here, gills full sized like that means there is a good population of predator fish
Always enjoy your fishing reports!
Added this to the Sunday picture show, but it’s also what I’m carrying today.

That’s enough for a peach cobbler!
My neighbor down the road has had good luck with peaches, so I might try some dwarf peach trees.
Except she had some that she was about to pick, but they were gone after the mowing crew finished. Another reason to mow your own lawn. 😄

It's crazy isn't it Jeff?! There are wild blackberries everywhere here too! o_O I didn't get so many out of my garden last year unfortunately, as I went down with sciatica just at the start of the season, and I was stuck indoors for 3 months

My neighbours did the same about 18 years back. Originally, they had a patch of blackberries 4 or 5 times the size of mine. Now the folks who live next door are envious of my blackberries. I pruned the dead canes out of mine last year, but didn't get a chance to do it this year, between the weather, my back, and being away. Now it's a bit too late. Hope you get a great crop Jeff

Did not know my pose was going to be like your's Jack. Imitation is sincerest form of flattery?
You brought out the beauty of the Albers there.

I hope you had fun, Ed. That’s got to be about the only thing in Adin. I went to a wedding at a ranch in Adin once, I don’t remember there being much there. Of course I don’t remember much from that wedding😁

Yep, we had a good time Bart Sacto Sacto . The only thing left in Adin is a gas station (Ed Staub & Sons) on the west end, a general store only open three or four days a week on the east end, and Oneys in the middle. The BBQ was pretty good - included a 1/4 chicken, a side of baked beans, a side of macaroni salad, a cup of ice cream, and a Pepsi all for $25.00 a plate - french fries an extra 6-bucks. It was a nice outing. Scenic, windy, drive from Canby up and over Adin Pass to Adin.

Will most likely stay home today. The nieces are still Xed off my X-Mas List. I'll probably soften up about it in a day or two. It's a bright, sunny, day today so, I'm carrying this bright orange Sod Buster Jr. Sausage and eggs for breakfast.

After 35 years of your care, I bet you have a large patch. Looks like they produce large berries. Great for cobblers, with ice cream or by themselves.
Now I want to go bluegill fishing

We are in for our first warm days of the year here in the City by the Bay! For the next 2-3 days there will be an off shore air flow instead of on shore. In the last forty years it has never gotten above 80 degrees at my house. For the next few days it will hover around that then the high pressure will break down and the fog will roll back in. Giants play later ⚾️! Keeping me company will with a nod to Stockman Sunday the Modoc Special and the usual lamb. Have a great weekend folks! 😀

The Mrs is in NYC having some time with friends, while I’m with the kiddos; the hotel knives can’t cut through a stick of butter let alone food (not that I should have expected any different). The Bunny made easy work of todays chicken for the three rascals.

Finishing up a little yard work today.

“Finishing up”, and “Yard Work”.
I have never seen those in the same sentence before!

Just to clarify what I said, what I’m picking now are the wild black raspberries. The blackberries won’t ripen for a while yet. They’re the one that get huge.

Truthfully, I think the smaller wild berries might have a more intense flavor.

Happy Sunday Porch. Carried these two for a 10 mile bicycle ride with the kiddo today (he's still in a trailer so this is pretty good exercise on KC hills). The Elderberry bone 39 is my boy's favorite knife, it beat out my Goldenrod Eureka Jack in his estimation. Glad to see the smooth bone thing is hereditary.

We stopped to watch this not-so-professional tree crew working Sunday on Armour Blvd. That Toyota is toast! Looks like it was an ancient Mulberry, thinking about going back to swipe a log or two, it's gorgeous when cut properly.

I am developing an enjoyment of single blade knives. This one started out two blade, @Daniel W deleted one and returned this beast to me. Work is awesome.View attachment 2238216View attachment 2238217View attachment 2238218
That’s a handy mod. On a big knife like that, losing bulk makes a huge difference.

Fourth of July means this ~View attachment 2238219
Which means this ~View attachment 2238229 I mostly hit the easy ones. Today, I might push into the real thick patches. And even though it’s quite hot, might need heavy canvas pants and long sleeve shirt.

Totin a modded TL-29, and Schrade 804 Whittler this morning. First time taking a Telecaster to this church. Pray for them.View attachment 2238252View attachment 2238253
They will never want to go back after they hear the skootalydootalies raining down on them from that beautiful tele tone 😎.
No blackberries, but going blueberry picking today. Okay, I will just be watching.😃View attachment 2238459
Browns, golds, tans…this is what beautiful knives are made of. 😍
