That is a beautiful knife. I have always regretted selling the couple scagel’s I have owned over the years.
Many thanks. I’m a big fan of the Northwoods Scagel repros. That is a beautiful knife. I have always regretted selling the couple scagel’s I have owned over the years.
Nice rehab, Ed.Home today. Got a little sage brush removal project going on and I'm going to carry and use a terribly abused Buck 112 I got a couple weeks ago for trimming after we remove the main branches.
The knife as it arrived. Terrible blade condition. Apparently sharpened with a grinder or a file. Huge nicks in the blade edge at the tip.

The knife as it is now. The nail nicks have been sharpened out and a good edge bevel established. It is very sharp. The tip needs a bit more work but it is much better than when it arrived.

I'm not going to shine it up. I'll leave it as is so it can show off it's scars with pride. Still plenty of work left in the old girl.

Solid plan B, my friend.I was going to work on my boat and do some yard work today, but the rain had other plans. Plan B is working out alright. Bocote it is.View attachment 2276467
Thank you, Rick!Great looking Schrade.
The bartender here at a hopping dock bar seems to get a kick out of making me random alcohol free frozen drinks.
I gave her complete creative control and so far I've had a "dirty banana" that was fantastic and a frozen margarita that was not so fantastic. First time I've hung out in a bar for quite a number of years. It was fun untill the drunken afternoon crowd started in. I then moved out to the dock and hung out by the water.
The opinel was to process some fish that the Mrs and kid #2 brought back from their boat trip. They caught a bunch, but unfortunately none of the ones they caught were big enough. Ah, pizza for dinner instead. I was looking forward to some nice fish, though. Oh well, at least they had fun.
