What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Headed out for a lake walk with the dogs. This will be the maiden voyage for this Dave Shirley era Northwoods. Great size, and the curly maple has plenty of chatoyance (though difficult to capture in photos)...

Two workmen specials at their best. Very nice Jeff.👌
Appreciate that, Bob!😉

It's a balmy 59° here right now.
I used my whiskey eye to take this pic! Hence the tilt.View attachment 2292032
Love that burl!
Gorgeous pair, Mr P. That jack is so nice.🤙
Nice knife, and a new maker to me.👌
Do you mind saying where you got the cap? I’d wear that one.
I would imagine most people would see it, and think you’re an orthopedist.
Those who know what it refers to might strike up a knife conversation with you.
My carry for the last week in Cape Cod started out with just the Sak Sportsman I always have on me. I added this Camillus my son picked out of a bucket of crappy knives he got at the Wellfleet Ma. Flea Market for $5.

Wow~ this may be the best flea market score I’ve ever seen. A WWII Navy Utility Jack with perfect Rogers bone, and full blades! Congrats.

Same Schrade 163 Hawkbill as yesterday. It IS Schrade Saturday, you know. And in a weak nod to Stag Saturday, my Camillus Stockman that I took apart and re-handled with elk antler. The pieces I used were lacking in staggy features, and since I was going for an ivory bone look, I polished it out. Very silky feeling in my hand.69D85B9D-F93A-4BEB-905E-E45793B41C83.jpeg I have this old wagon wheel. If Modoc ED Modoc ED ever visits, I’ll feed him a home cooked meal (no Spam, sorry), and he’ll call it the Wagon Wheel Cafe East.92963F65-CB5E-4FE2-BB7C-7F7BC5C637F2.jpeg
Picked down both sides of my Turkey Craw beans, which is fun. The trimming takes a LOT longer than the picking. It’s time to pick another row, too. I usually just use whatever pocket knife is on me for cutting off the stem ends and removing strings, but it’s hard to beat a hawk.5834363A-D14E-44DA-9A37-AF34641E9299.jpeg
I took my six foot rule out there, and measured this sunflower which I planted at the ends of the beans. It’s 11 1/2 feet tall, and still growing, and the beans are climbing it and still reaching higher.6E98EA6E-57CF-4E8A-8C4E-CC9E15708605.jpeg

Thanks Amir. I couldn't wait all week to oil up the Camillus so I lightly cleaned it up and lubed it with a little Canola oil, all we had around. Unbelievably it worked good, enabling nice snap on the main and vicious snap on the small blade.
As soon as I got in the door I gave it a good clean and lube with mineral oil. It got sharp as heck too. My son said to post this so people would still have hope of running into these finds. :)

Light day today. Gonna do a little prep work on our front steps for painting one day next week. I haven't carried this sub-three inch Buck Knight for some time so will carry it today. The lettering on the tang stamp is Script. From the eighties I think. Roast Beef Hash and eggs for breakfast.
