Over the past week or so, I have posted my favorite Red Bone Barlows and a variety of Ebony handled knives. Red Bone and Ebony are great, but the King of Covers has got to be Sambar Stag. What a great handle material. The Stag on this Remington 1306 goes back to the 1920’s.

BTW, awesome knives SteveC SteveC !

Johnnythefox Johnnythefox , well you have become quite the GEC collector, congratulations on those beautiful knives! If anyone accuses you of being part of the the secret GEC insider hand shake club, you can now tell them there isn’t one and all it really takes is persistent effort and patience.

That’s funny. I was looking for the “Heavy Duty Jack Knives With Shackles” thread, but couldn’t find it…View attachment 2291116View attachment 2291117
Coffee, steel cut oats, and work knives to start my day. A little run into town to pick up an rx, and my music book for Sunday, and I’ll spend the rest of the day picking and putting up beans.
But we’re taking an old friend out for dinner tonight, and I plan on changing these knives for something more fancy.
Vik used to work with his late wife, and we try to stay in touch with him. He’s pushing 90, and is a wonderful person.

Happy Friday.
Two workmen specials at their best. Very nice Jeff.👌

Thanks and sweet Stag !

Switched out the ebony Schatt heritage that I'd been carrying for the past few days for it's rosewood brother. It is one of my favorite knives and one that I acquired early on when I decided to build a collection, really has an old timey look and feel to it with its steel liners and iron bolsters, IMO.
Paired it with another favorite user, GEC Churchill 35. Have a great weekend friends. :)

I had one of the ebony Heritage S&M knives. Shame they stopped making them, they were as close to an original as I’ve seen. There’s an identical one shown in their 1903 catalog.
