Thank you very muchHarry, that will make an outstanding walking stick/headknocker! What a special piece of wood. If it really is Mulberry, your blades need to be sharp, because it’s quite hard. Please share your progress
Nice photo
And I am impressed with your woodworking skills, as well. Those inlays are difficult.
Yes, we did get some of that delightful rain! I was picking beans with my waxed boonie hat on to keep my head dry
“so far”…
Very wise addition to that Favorite declaration, my friend! I go through that almost every day, thinking that the knife(s) I’m totin are my favorite. It often results in not changing them for the next day
Sweet photo, as usual, sir!
That’s a fine Barlow, as I’m sure you know. It’s sturdy and robust.
I have the plain ‘ol 206, not one of the Scrimshaw line, and it has a pseudo woodgrain molded into the delrin. If it had been that nice color like yours, I’d have left it alone, but it was a gross, mucous shade of snot green. I just had to fix that with some Rit dye on the kitchen stove. Better, but not perfect. But I love that heavy bolster with the deep scrolling.
To show how substantial the Schrade Barlow is, I shot it with my Case Redbone.
It makes the Case look thin and flimsy by comparison. I wish the Case was built like the Schrade…View attachment 2318971View attachment 2318972
I’m happy for your score, Peter. In spite of your failed resolution!
The 86 is a great size in my hand, as I learned with the Forum knives.
Nice to see your bi-colored SAK, Jose.
Very nice photo!
Yeah, that extra cup of coffee tends to make my posts kind of wordy!
I look forward to seeing all of them when they arrive!
I’ve decided to pass because of the price, but no regrets…
I have more knives than I need ~ and I need to remember that!
Have a nice day!
