Stunning pair Steve
Yeah, that Hipster place does all the 'fancy' coffees, I don't even know what half of them are!The problem I believe, stems from everyone drowning their coffee in phony flavors. Hence, they don't need to make great coffee....no one knows what good coffee is anymore.![]()
Yep, if you drink your coffee black, it's got to be goodI know what good coffee is, Bob. I use Brazilian coffee and make it strong and black. No other flavours. Had three cups so far today, another tonight.
True, most days I go to a small neighbourhood cafe, run by Sicilians. I'm not sure what the blend is, but it's 100% Arabica. I've never had an imperfect cup of coffee there. The best place for coffee in the town centre is a stall in the market, run by some Polish guys, costs me half of what the Hipster joints tooNot anyone in a coffee house knows what good coffee is. Some of the best coffee I have had came from a small cafe in Minnesota. Not sure what the blend was but it was awesome
Steady Hand Bob, I like it!Thanks to steady hand Bob,Rufus1949 .
He had his coffee that morning, for sure!
But not too much. Lol!
Have a good one, Jack!
Great-looking Lambs gents
Thank you very much, Jack!!!![]()
A pair of aces from Charlie to celebrate his birthday! A Barlow and a Lambsfoot always makes for an outstanding couple!![]()
Many thanks my friend, your Sheffield Barlow/Lamb combo is a sweet treat for Sunday
Beautiful start to any day with two practical knives Jim.Today’s trip was planned. Back up in the mountains with a buddy just checking out some country and hoping to find a grouse or three. We found three but his old single shot 16 gauge wasn’t up to the challenge…or maybe it was him![]()
Was treated to a spectacular sunrise as I stood outside waiting for him to arrive. Took a Remington and a Victorinox with me today.View attachment 2325659View attachment 2325660View attachment 2325661View attachment 2325662View attachment 2325663View attachment 2325664

Low tide???
It's wonderful that you have that family heirloom!I found my grandads knife knocking about today, he used to look after his horse picking out stones from the hooves etc. I am rendering a house today, and I thought what better tool to flick out any stray stones. All the flipping joints are loose, but so what.
One of my earliest memories is of sitting beside the coal fire with him whilst he heated up the poker to red hot hot in the fire and then used it to stir up his pint of Guinness,
R.I.P Grandad.

Super knives and slips, Todd!
That's an interesting coincidence! Thanks Gary. Ya know, I think this sowbelly was my first Rough Rider and first of the pattern also.
Cool photos matching micarta with materials, Jeff!Hi Dylan! I have one in linen, and one in canvas, and I like them both. To help me remember which is which, I’ve posed one on my linen shirt, and the other on a canvas backpack. Wait. Do I have this right?

Edward Grazda: On the Bowery
Fascinating texture on the handle of the bottom knife!Another foggy start to the day in the City by the Bay! Like yesterday the fog should burn off by noon. Just returned from my weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store. Along for the ride the usual lamb and the Stingray. Big Red football this morning and Giants game later. Have a great weekend folks!

Glad you had a satisfying career change! Thanks brother! I’ve been in a classroom for over a year now and absolutely love it. It’s my second act as I was unhappy with my former career. I LOVE working with these kids. I wish I had known this is what I wanted to do years ago.
That stag canoe is the stuff dreams are made of!Thank you. I’m hooked!View attachment 2315664
Desirable dark duo, Dylan!Thank you, Jack! Black and red still remain my favorites.
Hi Jeff! My only gripe with GEC’s linen is that it is a bit plastic-like for my tastes. It’s as if they used a lot of resin or epoxy and not enough fibers. I do like canvas micarta though and that’s where I feel the material starts to really show its merits. Plus, as you mentioned, it can take on an excellent patina.
I’m working with these two today.

Lemme guess…#68? I can vouch it’s from the mid to late 1940’s.
They are very kind and complimentary, yes.
And I am appreciating playing with other people with talent after 20+ years of playing in church mostly solo.
One thing that is a real pleasure is having two guys up in the booth who really know what they’re doing. I have a guitarist’s typical mistrust of someone who has the power to turn me down, but I’ve learned to trust his judgement, and he’s learned to let me play![]()
