What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My mushroom knowledge is weak. Is that Chicken Of The Woods?
Those are Jack O Lantern mushrooms, and are not safe to eat. These are the largest I have ever seen. They also glow in the dark, pretty cool to see.
What's the black knife? That is REALLY appealing! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
That is a 981316 Texas Cattle Knife, holding me over until I can find one of the Texas Camp knives. These are HUGE knives. Carrying it again today:

That's a lot of Wad for a load of Shoddy :eek::poop:

Still, least the delivery charge was modest, did it come by carriage ....

If it were coming here (EU) it would cost another 25% import tax that's say a total of abt 300 GBP plus 15 extra postage or more that's getting to a very high price for something that should not have left the works. Are they on this planet??

Captivating stag, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I can dig it, he can dig it, she can dig it, we can dig it, they can dig it, you can dig it
Oh, let's dig it. (Can you dig it, baby?)

Sublime sowbelly! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Woah, life could be a dream, Waboom
If I could take you up in paradise up above, Waboom
(Do do do do, Waboom)

Jolly good jigging! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I know what you mean, Jeff, but I think of my Camillus electrician as one of my pretty knives. It's black covers and silver hardware give it a very distinguished look! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Quite a project, Tyson! 😲:thumbsup::cool: Am I remembering correctly that grapes will be involved eventually??
Interesting take on your SBJr. For me, I didn't have much use for single-bladed knives until I was gifted a SBJr, and that changed my outlook significantly!

Cool comic book, Bob! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
From what October does it come? I'm guessing many years ago, given the price!

Sumptuous golden stag, Steve! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Love the Lamb and Cherish the Churchill!

Those 88s are gr8! :thumbsup::cool::cool: Is yours single-bladed??

I googled "who made LL Bean's stockman pattern" and found quite a few sites that looked informative, but without having your knife in hand I couldn't really assess whether the photos I saw matched your knife. (Also, lots of claims being made without much evidence IMHO; several mentions of Camillus and of Western, and lots of claims for Ka-bar, but that may not have included stockmans. And there wasn't much date info that I saw in an admittedly-superficial scanning of some sites.)

:cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, José. :) The same could be said of your blue Alox Pruner!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Sounds like a plan, FC! 😁 Of course, you have to be wary of wifely "counterattacks" like a mandatory list of 4 quilt shops spread out over a 300-mile trip!o_O

Thanks Gary !

I took my Bunny to the hop.

We had a vicar playing the piano to entertain before he took the service.

2 Cortados as the young girl serving was a trainee Barista, the first one wasn't good enough so the boss gave me both.

Looked around the antique shop and bought a old tin with the Queen on.

Bumped into some Norwegian soldiers over here to train with our lads,last time I met any was back in Bosnia in the 90s.

Warm mild day so the riding was lovely.

Interesting term you use for drivers of vehicles with at least 4 wheels, Mike. 🤓
Since COVID arrived, I've been walking much more (and driving much less) than I used to, and I've taken to calling many of the drivers on the roads "vehicle supremacists", who I find as despicable as white or black supremacists in their treatment of people not "like" them (i.e., pedestrians, cyclists) as sub-human and not deserving of any rights. :mad:

Back in '90's and early oughts, I was an avid bicyclist -both road and mountain. The roads around here are hilly, curvy and narrow. I once pulled out in front of three bicyclist causing one of them to crash trying to not hit my car. In my defense, I had the right-of-way and they were flying through a stop sign, but still...I looked, and I look for people on two wheels, and I never saw them. People don't see us. The others that like to crowd people, or just be jerks, are the "spawn of Satan". At one point I advocated that every new bicycle come standard with a .45 ACP so one could put a warning shot through their head. I was told that was an extreme position for some reason🤔😜

Way to light a fire, Gary! :rolleyes: After some research, it looks like it's possibly a Schrade due to the "swindled bolsters" (whatever that means?). Or, it could possibly be a Camillus due to the main blade shape... which I find surprising because it's much more nicely finished than any of the vintage Camillus I've owned or seen in the past. I'd be "tickled" if it ends up being a Schrade. I'll keep digging.👍🏻
Not sure what swindled bolsters are...but Schrade of later vintage had Swinden key construction. If the pin is visible through the bolster, then its not Swinden keyed. Its a different way of pinning everything together. Lots of discussion about it here on BF.
I've got a couple of Camillus made Remingtons and they're as fine a slip joint I have.
R103's, both with bone handles. These also came in Delrin.

The same knife with stag is the R106.

As others have said, Remingtons were/are made by a variety of companies. I've got a couple of Camillus made delrin stockmans also. Not quite as fancy, but solid knives.

Those are some good looking knives, sir! I certainly wasn't intending to imply that Camillus < Schrade. I actually have a few older Camillus, but not nearly as nice as yours!👍 Just making a comparison based on what I have to reference. There's no doubt they made some fine knives!! I'm just partial to old Schrades because the first (and only) knife Dad gave me was a Schrade. I'm 100% certainly that's the ONLY reason why.

Further research indicates this LL Bean stockman is most likely not a Schrade. If that's the case, it's become both my nicest and favorite Camillus!! 😍

All good :thumbsup:
All I carried were Schrades for many, many years. Still do and still a fan :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
