What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks a lot Bob, I hope everything goes well for you my friend πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Gorgeous pair πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Love that photo Barrett πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

That's quite a pocketful my friend! πŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Interesting to see one of those lumps Rick πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Thanks for asking Jeff, feels like I have the mother of all flus, with a few extras! πŸ™„ Mostly, I'm just really knocked out though! Worse thing is the timing, I've been looking forward to next weekend's UK Sharp Show for a year, and sometime over this weekend, I'm going to have to decided whether or not to cancel my hotel, and salvage some of my cash 🀞

That smart-looking Browning is a cool addition to your pocket carries my friend πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Glad that you have that one Tim πŸ™‚πŸ‘
Thanks Jack..now get back in bed!

Going to be hot today. About 10 degrees above normal. Considering what's coming down the pike, I'm loath to complain. I'd be happy if it stayed above freezing until spring :)
No poker today, just pool shooting. Eagles is having a chicken dinner today, which means pie 😍
Heading out a little early to stop and buy wipers for the car.
Cadet going for the ride. I was using the tape measure to measure the wipers and had it in hand, so it got photographed too ;)

Sounds like fun, hope you have a great time buddy πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Crap. I called you Paul? πŸ™ƒ Well, he’s an ok guy, so consider it a compliment. 😜

No worries, Jeff. πŸ™‚ Yeah, Paul’s alright. 😁

Nice trio. That KA-BAR reminds me a bit of GEC’s Angus Jack they did a couple years back.

Love that photo Barrett πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Thanks, Jack.

Yeah, it was a bit excessive. 😁 I’d had the #77 and #93 the day before, then I thought, β€œI should grab a Lambsfoot” before I left the house yesterday, and I had dropped the little shop knife in my pocket because I just got it in the mail and I wanted to get some pics of it. I simply forgot to subtract anything as I was adding. πŸ™ƒ

You might be ok. I think most places (including the NHS) now suggest 5 days of quarantine after a positive test. Hopefully you’re still able to go!

I had to dig out the belt holster for this one! It's an XL, IXL stockman!
4.75" and full of super sharp Sheffield blades. Normal front pocket knife for scale.

The lack of bolsters drops the weight a good bit from the Schrade IXL version. The one shown is just about the same knife but is about .125" shorter. Blade seem to be exactly the same.

I can't find it in a catalog, but would assume it comes from the same general time frame as the ixl schrade. 1980 +/- . Just an assumption. The wood used looks exactly the same as the Schrade version too.

I don't know how much I'll actually use this thing. It's more like a good hunting knife than something I'd use everyday! It will be fun to tote around today at least!
Gotta luv the XL stockman. They so handy - and sturdy.
That IXL is a beauty.πŸ˜πŸ‘

My "largest" are only just 4.625 inch closed; 3x Old Timer 858's.
1 vintage 1978~1984
1 BTI Offshore 858OT
1 BTI Offshore 858OTB.

The OTB is my in the pocket carry from Thursday, for at least the rest of the month.
I may stick with it for a week or so into next month, or swap it out for the vintage 858 "sometime" between 10-01 and 10-07.

The offshore 858's have one "improvement" or "upgrade" (IMHO) over the vintage one: NO DARN SWINDON KEYS! They have standard pin construction.

I figure if Swindon Key construction is so great, the current owner of the Schrade family of brands would still use it. Also, since the patent is long expired, other cutlery firms would use it. πŸ˜‡
Admittedly, I am probably mistooken about that.πŸ™„

Another case with an American made chinese old timer.i was asked in a pm how I could tell a shrade stamped made in china was actually made in the good old USA.it is simple math.if I'm paying $80.00 for a scrade made in china I know it wasn't.it has to be American made.i can't explain why this is happening but I do know the middle man is in Nigeria. So to be sure just bye your schrade from Nigeria.

Glad you like it. Jason Ritchie made it. I’m going to miss the podcast. Hopefully they’ll be back
It's an amazing tool. Didn't know they weren't doing the podcast anymore, but then again I haven't made time to listen to any of them yet (on that long to-do list), so maybe by the time I finish they'll start again?
echoscout echoscout Thanks for the compliment, David. Three blade Thursday has only recently become possible for me, after contracting an expensive-to-treat case of Splitbackitis. I had no idea what I was missing though! I've been digging your Horsewrights quite a bit, up my alley and in my dumpster so to speak. Dave seems like a wonderful person too, he's on my short list of fixed-blade makers I'd like to try out.
