Another foggy start to the day in the City by the Bay! Well Ed while you were dry yesterday we got on and off shower’s all day. No big plans for the day until Monday Night Football! Nice day outside for doing some light additional Fall work after coffee and then lunch with some friends . Then I applied some poly urethane to the walking stick project . One more coat and it will be done .

Have this one in the pocket .

I hope all is well.. Good old Medicare gave me a good nondescript cane. If I can convince my wife for a moment of freedom, I may just ride with friends in cart....and keep score.

An unbiased scorekeeper would have been a luxury back in the days I'd play a little golf.

I do the same with Opinels, Gary. But only for a quick slicing cut, like harvesting lettuce. But be sure to lock it any time you’re doing a push cut!

Thanks for the advice, Jeff. Hadn't thought about the difference for push cuts (since I mostly use my knives for cutting fruits and vegetables), but that makes sense.

Cindy and I were on our way home from town yesterday and Cindy pressed the switch for her power window. Well, the window went down about half way and froze. Crapola!!!!!!!! Dollar signs ($$$$$$$$$$) started rolling around in my eyes. I called the local body shop this AM and was able to get the truck in. Turned out that the pop rivets that hold the actuator arms in place had of all things popped. It took the technician about an hour to fix it and it was only $49.00 so all is good in my wallet. Being always prepared as I am, and not knowing what to expect on this mornings journey, I carried this trusty CV 6231 1/2 Capped Jack with me. Cindy has sausage and eggs on the stove now - tasty!!!!

Car repairs for under $50 is rare these days, ED; I sometimes spend more than that to fill the gas tank on our Honda Civic. Nice Case jack!

Plaudits to Chris for his generosity! I recently noticed that he arranged for different types of micarta on his and your knives; very thoughtful how he got you some burlap that matches a couple others of your knives (I think).

Dog walk this morning looking for Penny Buns again, no luck but a few indistinct Fly Agaric, did not find any spectacular clusters as I usually do. A little bit old and tired. Like me. This Richards knife has a streetlight logo.

Another rainy day here in Upstate NY, one more week before I head south for the winter! In between closing the cottage, I swung by a sale and scored a couple of nice Craftsman ‘Bowie Stock’ knives in really nice condition (with some paperwork). Also picked up a Kutmaster, Channel Lock Electrician’s Knife (Camillus branded), and a Pal.

Nice cattle knife!

Haven't posted in a while due to a camera malfunction on my cell. I've been busy this fall and was only recently able to schedule an appointment with the genius squad to take it in for repair. Carried the Pal cattle knife and Rough Rider whittler combo for a few days this week. Threw the GEC 74 and same whittle in the pockets for todays carry.
Hope all you porch folk are doing well and enjoying the fall colors.
