Sometimes a knife just strikes a cord. This XX true red bone survivor is just about the perfect traditional pocket knife in my opinion. A split back whittler with an excellent and useful combination of blades. It sharpened up beautifully and rides in the pocket like a champion.

Carrying this new to me whittler! It is a Schatt & Morgan Carpenter’s Whittler in Stag. Appears to be from 2005. Can anyone tell me what steel they used at this time as well as any other info about it. I know nothing!

Those two are so good in a photo together .

420HC on a lot of them, the select line had ATS-34.

Pretty sure yours is 420HC.

Excuse the bad picture, but 2 workhorses for some heavy yard work this afternoon. The Buck 102 and 110 are both iconic blades. These two need a little blade touch up and I think I’ll hit the sheaths with some conditioner!
