What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That Barlow is something else. Wowza.
Thank you! 😎👍
As we discussed during the Case barlow fiasco of 2023. You play a huge part in my knife addiction.
Ah…it goes both ways for sure my friend. Can’t wait to see pictures of those Barlows!
😎👍
My brain is tired. We're going to town for an appointment with the Optometrist for Cindy and lunch at the local Chinese choke and puke restaurant. Been sitting at my desk trying to decide which of the following knives I'll carry.

Well used, worn, scratched up Case CV 6231 1/2 1 Dot 1979 Delrin Capped Jack

Pristine, never carried, never sharpened, never used, Case 6231 1/2 6 Dot 1974 Red Bone Capped Jack

Decisions, decisions - enough to tire my brain out.
Both of those are absolutely beautiful Ed.
😎👍
I've been away for about 7 days and I'm hopelessly behind on this thread. Leaving again tomorrow and it may be December before I get caught up. 😮
I went camping and deer hunting for 6 days and took a handful of knives along but mostly used this LT Wright fixed blade and GEC 86 big jack for cooking and chores around camp.
One of my brothers joined me for two of those days and it was a very relaxing camp. I did do a lot of walking up and down ridges which actually was good exercise and energized me.
Since getting back home two days ago I've been carrying the GEC 72LB and a Case split back whittler. Everyone have a good week, may be awhile until I'm back from my next adventure. :)

Sounds fantastic Greg, glad you got to get away! 😎👍
Perfect pair. 🤠
Thanks John. 😎👍
Those two look good together Todd :)
Thanks Jack. 😎👍

Thank you, sir!
You were asking about companies that made knives for the US military…

I know that Camillus, Imperial, and PAL mafe the USN Easy Open Utility Jack, Camillus made the all steel Demo Knives and the USA marked Camp Knives. And KA-BAR and Camillus made fixed blades and bayonets. Later, Cunetta and Ontario as well.
Case had military contracts, and thenbthere are all those who made the TL-29.
I am sure there were others, but that’s all I know of without looking it up.

Uh oh. I see no Spey!

Yeah. That’s as good as bone gets.
Case and Cattaraugus , maybe others too , made that heavy Quartermaster Corps. knife

Needed every blade on me today plus the swiss army tools and flashlight. The Stonehocker fixed blade hit a good number of nails cutting foam (no judgement, bad day) and will need a bit of stropping or the stones. The day might have been a total rout without these tools on me, despite the rolling tool chest I brought to the job. Knife habit justified!

That Eureka is looking great Gary. I think I’ll carry mine tomorrow 👍
I have several Peanuts, but I have a yellow pen knife just like yours, Bart, that I'd prefer to carry over any of my Peanuts.:thumbsup::cool:

I agree. The pen is noticeably bigger than the peanut but still very compact due to the thin, slim frame. Although I still carry my peanuts too.
Exemplary ettrick, Bart! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary.
Work carry for the day. Starting to get into small fixed blades...Why do I do this to myself ? I guess I'm going full knifeaholic.

You’re doing it because they’re handy and they’re cool 😁 Nice Northwoods Paul 👍
Mike mbkr mbkr - - The 31 1/2 is 3 3/4" long closed. The 35 1/2 is 3 1/4" long closed. They are exactly the same except that the 35 1/2" is a down scaled version.

6231 1/2 top -- 6235 1/2 bottom Of course, the 1/2 indicates Clip Blade

Can’t go wrong with either one, Ed. Very nice.

I usually only tote 1 or 2 knives at a time, but toted the whole collection upstairs today for a photo op. (saw a similar pro photo with props online that I liked, so I added a few props)
I lean toward canoes, so canoes and similar folders get the top shelf. The new Bladeforums knife fits in nicely with the canoes.
