What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thank you Jeff !
The knife is less than a year old.
I take it as a compliment that it looks old as that means that the fact that I have been using a lot shows :)

It is a gaucho knife, the smaller "Verijero" type (BF thread here )
The sheath is made with goat rawhide and very skilfully stitched together.
Gauchos would usually carry smaller knives like my Verijero in the front and larger ones in the back.

Beautiful knife! But I haven’t had a waist line like that since I was in the 3rd grade! 😜

Funny you should mention that... I was very close to ordering some Fiebing's dye last night. Not sure there are many options for a brown base, although red + brown =maroon. Red + brown could also = "ruint".

You got Stone Cold Steve Austin and the word “ruint” in back to back posts. The south salutes you sir 🫡. All you need now is a cold beer and reruns of American Gladiators on the TV. 📺 🍺🇺🇸

That'd be great, Jon! Unfortunately, mom drank all the beer and they've turned the power off due to the Viper drop. We're sitting here in the dark playing "I spy".

My Navy Knife as we crossed the “X” (Equator and International Date Line). Taken moments apart these pictures were taken on 01Dec in the northern hemisphere and 02 Dec in the southern hemisphere.
I’s a pollywog no more….ARRR
So you've arrived in the better half of the world 🤣🤣
Fine photos brother👍👍

Cool knife, Dan. It looks very old.
Is the sheath set up for belt or pocket carry? Both?

Good project for a day when rain keeps you inside.
You’re giving me ideas…
I like the idea of a slim wood sheath, wrapped in rawhide.
The olther day, in one if those big box stores, I saw a display of huge rawhide dog chews. I mean huge, as in a sheet 3 or 4 ft wide, rolled into a long stick. I could get one, soak it until it’s soft, and use that. Hmmm.
The forecast says it might be minus 30 centigrade in the coming days, a good time to stay inside and do something like this. I made a sheath for the Böker, the knife is light and slim, just a joy to carry and use.
