What kind of wood are you using? All of mine are fallen cedar. I haven't branched out to anything else. Funny, I'll start one and set it aside and then start another. I'm building one now for my Dad with a paracord grip which I hope to have done by Christmas.

Great pairing Harry ! 👍

Howdy, Porcheteers! Did I miss anything?

I went up to NYC at the beginning of December for Mom's 90 birthday. Had a great time. Picked up my first case of Covid for a souvenir. 🤒🤬 Feeling better now.

I'm carrying a set of piano key covers today:

Nice pair Jack, I bet you are getting excited for your holiday !

Grainy twosome !

Spent the week at work in this Radiation Detection course. At the end of the week the instructor asked “does anyone feel overwhelmed by everything presented this week?” I thought to myself “who wouldn’t?” Next sentence from instructor “Well we did just cover a semester’s worth of graduate courses in one week, so…” 😳😳😳

Albers lamb and the stag 77 with me all week in the spirit of the generous giveaway @JonMcD is hosting.

Nice pair Jeremy, that sounds like a information packed week 😲

Have a peaceful Sunday! Doh! I'm getting ahead of myself! Have a super Saturday, folks!
Carrying my Case-Bose Eureka Jack today. I really like this knife! Here's a nice pic of the jigged bone, which I find really attractive.

This photo is the one that I was working on in that photo .

It is a Hickory limb from a tree that I had to remove . I stripped off the outer and inner bark . If you want to use Hickory , try to get the Stick in the Spring when it is supposedly easier strip the bark . I have tried to stain it twice and it takes some but very little stain . This photo shows some others that I have done . Material is from Left to Right . Oak , Old Shovel Handle , Oak Limb , Mullberry Sapling that I saved for 50 years that had a vine growing around it .

I do not really need the sticks to walk yet but I do have Spinal Stenosis and at my age it will only be a matter of time before I do . I do enjoy using the Brass Hames and inlaying them onto the end . The Silver Round objects are Buffalo Nickels the were on an old Hat Band .
There are a lot of people making walking sticks that just blow my mind with their skills .

I usually make my sticks and staffs out in the garden, but our summer was so wet that while I made a couple for other people, earlier in the year, I didn't make a single one for myself :( I need to get back to it, got a nice straight piece of willow I'm going to do something with, and some ash I have ideas for ;)
Nice pair Jack, I bet you are getting excited for your holiday !
I am Steve, thanks, I just hope I can get everything packed, and get to the airport, without putting my back out! ;)

Looks like an interesting course. That said by someone who has worked commercial nuclear power for almost 40 years.
It was very interesting. Lots of great information on detector theory and physics associated with radiation and how to detect it.
Great pairing Harry ! 👍
